but the thing is. I feel like many strange gendered people are actually just running away from the pressure of silly gender roles, weird stigma and prejudices that have been tied to their biological sex for some reason. Not that I care if people feel emotional connection with their genitalia, in fact: I do not want to know any details about this!
Still, I think there is a reason to talk about the sexes and sexism! Many women are discriminated against because of the body they have been born in(to), because of the wacky social status that comes with their biological sex.
The goal is to make someone’s genitalia irrelevant in almost all circumstances. And not invent yourself a new gender because you oh wonder oh wonder don’t fulfill all nonsensical “gender” clichés.
#I kinda don’t see the problem with JKR#she supports people expressing themselves so where’s the problem#she’s just emphasising the fact that women(“afab“) face many inconveniences and dangers in this life in this society THAT WE DID NOT CHOOSE#so the only not trans-supporting aspect of her position is that the word woman means biological woman to her#which I personally think is sensible because my female body is basically the only thing that makes me a woman.#what else is a woman that a human with female reproductive organs?#a long haired hysterical weakling in a pink dress. soft spoken nasal high pitch voice and always crying? likes dolls?? -wellll…#…that sounds pretty sexist#but on the other as I understood it Trans people are genuinely not okay with their body#do they feel amputated? I would like to know. need to listen to some ppl…#but to be real. I’m also not ok with my body. I want to get out. and I feel so detached#feeling like a woman does not make sense to me. I am a woman and I DO NOT feel like a woman.#this is the actual reason why transsexuality and the gender debate don’t make any sense to me#but maybe other women do feel femininity. what sort of fucking emotional is gender. my god this is so stupid#maybe I’m spurting transphobic nonsense because I’m non binary and inherently detached from the gender experience TM

i'm gonna be autistic about borderlands for a sec, everyone stay with me okay
i do not understand why the borderlands games try to make moxxi so important to jack, i dont get it, genuinely it doesn't make sense
so, spoilers for BL2, the pre-sequel, tales from the borderlands, and BL3 moxxi's heist- the general info you need is that jack and moxxi canonically dated for a period of time between the first game and TPS, how long this was we arent sure but we can make a guess that at the VERY most it was less then six months of them being together
we can piece this together by the vague timeline of TPS happening about a year or less after the first game
(this is estimated by the fact that Athena said she worked with jack five years ago, meaning TPS happened five years ago by the time the second game takes place and five years is also the amount of time that's passed between the first and the second game so- TPS took place in a very short few month period after the first game)
now we know that they couldn't have been together for long because moxxi was together with BOTH mordecai AND jack during this only a few month period of time between games- this is confirmed in a line of dialogue from BL2 where mordecai says moxxi left him for jack at the end of BL1 but then in TPS moxxi and jack are already broken up, which means they could have only been together for a few months for the timeline of five years to make sense! at the VERY most they were together for like, three months or even just a few weeks. all that matters is that it was not very long
in BL2 there's also a line about jack destroying moxxi's fighting dome because he thought she cheated on him, which is a thing he does AS handsome jack not as the normal dude jack he was when they broke up, the reason for which is still unknown but we know it was Vaguely Messy which is like whatever, sure, that sorta makes sense for him to do but what DOESN'T is the games trying to convince you that jack is in love with her.
okay you still following? cool
in TPS jack is visibly uncomfortable around moxxi and doesn't like working with her, even going as far as asking her to stop calling him 'sugar' a request she just, ignores and continues doing anyway, also during TPS is when jack gets together with nisha, his canon girlfriend he's had through the five years between BL1 and BL2. jack is INSANELY in love with nisha, we see this in the after credits art of both TPS and BL2 same with the way he talks to her/about her in TPS and in outside game material where he literally stutters when talking about her AND in the way he proudly displays her hat in his office in TFTBL alongside his most prized possessions.
he LOVES his woman with his entire heart, he gave her a whole town to prove it!! nisha is his everything outside of hyperion so, tell me, PLEASE why BL3 tried to tell us that jack was still in love with moxxi? because i do not get it at all
what im talking about here is 1. in moxxi's heist timothy is in love with moxxi, this is made canon in TPS where he fumbles through trying to flirt with her and in the heist dlc this is brought up again and timothy has a line about how jack asked moxxi on a date during his reign as handsome jack and sent timothy to go as him because he was busy but like, why would he do that? we know that jack is insane about nisha why would he then?? ask his ex that he visibly hates on a date??? and then 2. they added a fucking painting of her in his office in the casino.
i do not even know where to begin on how much i hate that detail
when you get to jack's office in the casino there are two paintings you find, one is of angel- makes sense, is his daughter who he loves even if he is really bad at it, it's the same as him having the picture of her in his office on helios, he loves his daughter, a painting of her being here is in line with everything else!! plus it's really pretty and i like it
then across from that is a painting of moxxi, which makes no fucking sense!!! why isn't it nisha!! it SHOULD be nisha!! the woman he is CURRENTLY TOGETHER WITH AND MADLY IN LOVE WITH????
i have DETESTED this detail since i first played the dlc, as much i love moxxi's heist and credit it as my favorite borderlands dlc the whole 'moxxi is jack's true love' thing makes me so confused?? they dated for MAYBE three months between BL1 and TPS and then he got into a five year long committed relationship that is never properly explored in the games and then the devs have the gall to say they wish they had done more with nisha like!!! good news you still could have!! but you didn't
anyways, i apologize for this, it has just been bothering me for months and i had to get it out and see if anyone else had noticed this and was bothered by it?? because it makes me go a little insane every time i think about it
then again maybe the character writing in BL3 is just bad
#borderlands 2#borderlands handsome jack#borderlands mad moxxi#borderlands nisha kadam#borderlands rant#i guess#i dont even like nisha and jack together either!! but the way they just erase her to shoe horn moxxi in pisses me off!!#that is NOT the love of his life#OR and hear me out here devs we COULD maybe just possibly add a picture of his first wife?? crazy thought#i swear to fuck if the answer to this is racism i am going to scream#it doesn't help that BL3 specifically has a HUGE problem with misogyny? that game is horrific in the way it treats it's female characters#also just idk jack's writing really fell off in BL3? all the characters did but his stuck out to me in moxxi's heist#it started to fall in tales when they made him super sexist out of nowhere??#and the whole him being cartoonishly evil instead of being grounded like he was in bl2 and tsp made me upset#taking this character with such depth and being like 'yeah he hates women and thinks animal abuse is funny' was a weird turn!#then they do this shit with him in bl3#there are some parts of his writing in bl3 that i like but most of it doesn't sound like him#ALSO TELL US MORE ABOUT HIS FIRST WIFE YOU ASSHOLES#i am fully going to make a huge post about jack's first wife and how awfully they treat that character as a whole#i might also talk about how gross the treatment of the female characters in bl3 is if anyone is interested? because it's gross#anyways#sorry#autism won again#a painting of nisha would have been so pretty too :(#dont play bl3 lol that's the moral here

are you a biological female
idk do you wanna check or smth 😏
#asks#if you ever call me A Female like you're a sexist alien from ds9 i'm never letting you in there ngl#ppl who use it as a noun instead of an adjective will always be weirdos to me idc#my landlady once said whenever her husband sees ~a female~ he rushes to help her with groceries etc#and i felt like i was in the twilight zone#(even outside of the obvious knight in shining armor bs)#there's a reason why using terms referring to a marginalized person as a noun sounds wrong and dehumanizing pretty much across the board#another reason why i avoided radblr for years and years#despite desperately needing a space like this

omg just read a post in a forum that it’s really easy to get a boyfriend if you are a young girl in her early 20s...
that is so not true... I mean look at me... single most of my 20s... and all the men around me already had a girlfriend at uni so I had literally no choice... I often go unnoticed... I was a virgin until 26 years old... most of my first times in love were in my 20s, not in teens... never had a serious long term relationship before... just short term stuff and flings... Get approached mainly by idiots who are obsessed with their exes...
I know other girls who are in a similar situation as well... they don’t have a boyfriend even though they wish they had... idk if it’s just pretty privilege...
#boyfriend#girlfriend#finding love#sounds sexist#the biggest stereotype about gender...#pretty privilege#single

I was tagged by @speedygoreman to do this.
As far as I can tell, you're meant to pick from one of my favourite female characters. You can use whatever criteria you like, or just pick the only one you know.
I'll put info about them under a read me because some of them might be a bit not well known, in case you want to weigh up why I like them before you pick.
Also you can only put 12 options so not only have I had to pick only one character from each book/show/game, I have had to leave out a lot of really good female characters I love. This is cruel and mean.
Hahli: it was a toss-up between Hahli and Gali but ultimately I feel Hahli has better moments. Whether she's flirting with Jaller, facing down Karzahni, showing off her more brutal side in the Pit or sharing a quiet moment of reflection with Kopeke, she is amazing.
Clarice Bean: Lauren Child writes such fun characters and Clarice Bean is no exception. I also love the way she talks and I still say "etc etc non-non-stop" and "naming no names, i.e. Grace Grapello". If I were the sort of person who'd diagnose fictional characters, I'd say she comes across as having ADHD (to some extent) and her diary entries are full of little tangents and day dreams.
Bunnie: OK she's only on here because I used to pretend she was my girlfriend in Wild World. Then my younger sibling started a new game (in retrospect, giving a 5 year old (thereabouts) free reign of a DS was poor judgement, but still) and she was gone forever. Until she showed up in the campsite in New Horizons and now we are reunited and our houses are next door to each other. She's so cute and sweet and I love her.
Vera: she is a hard-nosed detective with occasionally unorthodox techniques and an intuition that never misses. She is also an avid birdwatcher and she loves a cup of tea. She calls everyone pet or love and while she might look a bit like a grandmother, you underestimate her at your peril. Also she said trans rights (I'm not joking about this).
Katara: I really like water-themed female characters and so I was drawn to Katara the instant I saw her as a child. I feel she was better in my memory of her than when I rewatched the show, but she is still so cool. Like Hahli, she is a perfect water-themed character: she can be both calm and soothing, but when she's angry she can bring the full force of the ocean.
Lynne: no one has faced death as much as she has and kept such a bright attitude about everything. She's fiery and I love her and Sissel's banter. I just really like girls with energy and she has it in spades.
Ema Skye: enthusiastic, aspiring forensic scientist Ema is fun and all, but jaded detective Ema who hates her job is better. I love her interactions with Apollo and Klavier and it's fun to see her become a little less grouchy as the game progresses. She hasn't quite lost the spark from her youth and I like when it bubbles to the surface.
Fluttershy: she's cute and I relate to her being pretty shy myself but also really wanting to be kind and help others. Fluttershy does have her ups and downs in terms of stories she gets saddled with, and I would say I prefer watching Rarity over her, but Fluttershy has my heart and she is just too cute.
Emmy: I think Level 5 made a good choice pairing her with Layton because she fills the willing-to-resort-to-violence-if-necessary niche that Luke and Layton were missing. Also I love how she teases Luke and is competing with a literal child. She's strong, clever and even has a tragic backstory. What's not to love?
Josie: this book has a special place in my heart and so it was inevitable that I put Giuseppina on this list. I love her introspection, and I relate to her feelings a lot. I'd say more but then I'd start talking about myself too much. But she's such a romantic and it is such a joy to watch her develop her sense of self as the book progresses.
Elaine: I want to make it clear that I think all of the Seinfeld quartet are not good people, but that is the point of the show. Elaine is the part of us that wants to do good, that feels guilt but it's too much effort, or our actions fall short. She's not one to back down though and that's why I love her. She can be so pathetic and downtrodden, but can also be so biting and acerbic. She is just so fun to watch.
Lara Jean: when I first read this book I thought, wow, I am Lara Jean. She's a romantic and a daydreamer, but she is happiest at home baking or doing crafts. Not that I bake or do crafts as much as she does, but you get what I mean. Her pining ("longing is its own kind of perverse delight") just really made me empathise with her. Anyway I'm not here to talk about my unrequited crushes or about the times I've sent letters to people that told them I had crushes on them. She's another one I don't want to discuss too much because then I'll be discussing myself, but yeah, I like her a lot.
#i don't know what to tag this#and I have like 10 followers so I fully expect it to be a tie between Hahli and Emmy#with maybe a few votes for Fluttershy and Ema#and Katara and Lynne#I hated making this list because I have so many other characters I like#why are you making me pit them against each other?#whoever wins they're all winners to me including the ones that didn't make the shortlist#I have no favourite between these so I don't care who wins#I have a friend who was once trying to write a play and I commented on the fact the major characters were all male#and he was like 'stories with female leads don't really interest me' or something#like they don't catch his attention#and I was gobsmacked because I love female leads#also it sounded pretty sexist if I'm honest even if I knew he didn't quite mean it that way#more men need to read stories about women by women it would fix a lot of problems in society

Yap session bc wow.
Pretty sure the dude that rejected me (situationship ://) is getting a crush on me bc like. One of the last times we talked he was like "oh ur trying to get me to like you". And it's like. No I'm not. You literally rejected me and the more I think about it, I didn't even want you, I just wanted the idea of a boyfriend that I was projecting onto you. He's conservative and talks about how conservative his parents are (which I don't vibe with at all). When we first met, he was still moping about his ex gf who he had broken up with over a year prior. And like. We were both in high school (16 + 17 ://). And I'm sorry but how meaningful can a fucking highschool relationship be? Go to therapy.
Plus he'd like vent without asking and then I'd give him advice and then he'd just shoot it down and be like "no that wouldn't work anyway I'm a piece of shit" and like. Okay, why are you coming to me then? If you're not taking any advice then why are you bitching? You didn't even ask, you just did!
But the moment I even mention my past drug addiction (not in detail and not in a mopey way. Just matter-of-fact), he's like "oh no please don't mention that". Like. Shut the fuck up oh my godddddd. I am not trying to be with someone who can't even handle hearing the most watered-down descriptions of substance abuse.
Plus I just do not trust this guy like. I don't kink shame but here's my red flags: he's conservative, enough said on that...He misgendered me in a sexual way without asking (I did play along bc I was stupid and scared to say no but whatevs). And he did stop when I told him to but the fact that he didn't ask before was highly suspect bc he fucking met me as a trans guy.
And he's also weird about pregnancy. Which I played along with too of the act of breeding is appealing but like. I'd rather have a tapeworm than a damn fetus bc at least I wouldn't be forced to let that parasite live off of me. Dude also mentioned baby trapping like. "oh I feel like you'll force me to get you pregnant" and like. I literally said that I wanted to get my uterus removed and 2: you're the one bringing pregnancy into this don't fucking pin it on me!!! Like I feel like if we actually met up I'd have to triple check and be sober bc what if this guy actually does this shit? Why else would he keep mentioning it?
Like idk he's also asked me about trans kids and like. 1: I don't keep up with any trans people irl, 2: I haven't started transitioning yet so why the fuck are you asking me? I'm not the arbiter of trans people, my guy. Like he acts supportive but I feel like deep down this dude doesn't even respect me and he's gonna try to change me. But that could just be paranoia, idk...
Either way, I don't really get that much out of talking to him. As embarrassing as it is, I've started using those ai bots (says the bitch who is vehemently against ai "art") and they've been much more fulfilling emotionally because they tell you what you want to hear. And you can change the answers. They're hollow, but good for short term stuff bc I don't have the energy to talk to people rn (and I haven't been talking to anyone or really leaving the house on a regular basis...kinda just wasting the year so far..). Especially not this guy.
Like. We don't have the same interests, our tastes in music are similar but also too different and he doesn't get it™️ like I do, his beliefs are like too different from mine. He's also said misogynistic shit about sex workers which. I don't fuck with that, you literally watch porn, you fuckin hypocrite. And the more I think about texting him, the more I see it as a damn chore.
Like idk I just. Do not have a lot of investment in this guy. I think I was just lonely and projecting. And obviously it's not healthy for me bc I resent him but it's not healthy for his annoying ass either. He shouldn't have friends who secretly hate him. So idk I think I'm just gonna delete my profile and start again, also block him bc my dumbass 16 year old self gave him my number.
But like. My gut is telling me not to. I have been taken advantage of before in the past and I'm just getting a distinct deja vu. Even if it's not intentional on his side, I don't think it's good for me. Like the first time he texted me (in over 2 years after I ghosted him with no attempt to reach out to him (take the fucking hint)), it felt like seeing a box of pills in the CVS aisle. I was thinking "god, I shouldn't do this...but I should see what happens, maybe it won't be as bad as last time...." Just that same feeling I got when I decided to relapse.
And like dude. It's always gonna be as bad as last time: quit taking chances on shit that you know will fail you!!! So Idk. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I shouldn't talk to someone who just drains me, bc that'll drain him too. Plus I'm allowed to not fucking like someone and the guy didn't even wish me happy birthday or congratulate me on my 5 months of sobriety. Things in my status. And I know he reads statuses bc he messaged me about one of them before. Plus he rejected me on my birthday!!!
And now you wanna come crawling back and then act like I'm obsessed!?!? You were the one who came back into my life, not the other way around! I was over you until you came back. And now I'm over you again. But you're not over me. But you're so fuckin allergic to commitment that you just wanna keep acting like I'm smitten with you. After you strung me along with no regards for my feelings. Not because you're evil, but because you're fucking dumb. And I'm not dealing with someone who's that stupid. Hope you work your issues out, but I'm not here to fix you, nor do I want to. That's on you!! Figure it out!!!
Anyway um if anyone read this far thank u. Feel free to add input just please be nice. And uhhh. Aita???
#cj rambles#vent#situationship#gay#mlm#trans#ftm#dude i hate it here#minors dni#like seriously. you literally rejected me.#and then came back and was like 'oh ur trying to get me to like you' when I'm literally NOT.#like. i say im interested in a relationship and you get cold feet.#but when i move on from wanting a romance with you you fucking turn around.#which tells me that you dont want me. you just want to be desired without having to reciprocate#and frankly i dont deserve that like. you used me as a rebound once and that was on you.#but im not letting you play me again. even if you want to change. bc frankly i dont like you bro#and also i hate the raceplay it makes me feel like a piece of shit like i dont genuinely believe but. its too far for me.#like i just feel awful doing it and i dont like this guy enough to feel comfortable doing it now that i think ab it#and hes weirdly fixated on me being white too like. i get it. im pale. i look dead at times. chill.#i would like that same energy to b directed to my transness pretty please. actually not the same energy but still....#like idk the vibes are horrendous rn i just dont know how to cut him off bc i dont want him to worry about me (or try to contact me again)#like idk this may sound mean but...Yeah im gonna be mean actually#this guy is a fucking loser who needs therapy i don't have the patience to fucking deal with him#like hes beneath me bc he's conservative/sexist/lowkey transphobic/doesn't do a lot of introspection.#and maybe that's selfish but that's just more reason to not associate with him. bc this is gonna turn toxic bc im losing my patience yk?#plus i can't do long distance. i need quality time and physical touch. you can't kiss and cuddle through a screen.#also our aesthetics are very different and he's hot but he's not my type. also i don't like his voice. and i have a thing about voices.#also his dick is too big like. i can't get 3 fingers in and that thing just looks like it would hurt. im good. im not a size queen.#like idk the more i think about it the more i realize that we r not compatible#i dont want you bro just fuck OFF!!!

🐍New year astro observations
first post of 2025, the year of the snake!
– astrobydalia
A thing I've noticed is that degrees can carry some energy from the dignities. For example if you have your Mercury in 21º degree in whatever sign, that mercury can express characteristics of debilitation since that's a sagittarius degree and mercury is debiltated in sagittarius
Aquarius placements, specially venus, appear picky when choosing their friends or people they truly like but honestly I've noticed that all they want is someone who has a personality. Like literally just be your own person and they’ll love seeing how you’re someone with many layers to you. It sounds simple but we live in a society where the instinct is to imitate others to fit in and Aquarius placements like it when you're (genuinely) true to yourself. Does not mean they will make you their bestie cause that depends on each individual but they at least appreciate the authenticity.
^^I remember this Aquarius Venus guy had a crush on me back in college and he once said to me "I like you because you're complicated"😭
Aquarius/11th house placements befriend people who share their political/philosophical/spiritual ideals. I’ve noticed that the people they ghost the most are the ones who don’t share their visions
Mercury rx natives are very good listeners actually. Even if they have the planet in domicile or exaltation, they are very patient when it comes to obsorbing info that's why I've seen this placement is common in "nerds" or book worms. They take their time understanding things and can come across as slow sometimes but they’re just very meticulous.
Capricorn Moons and their “facts don’t care about your feelings” attitude while simultaneously being the most sensitive and emotional person in the room
Something else I've seen with debilitated moons (scorpio/cap moon) is that they tend to have no patience or sympathy for people who seem to have it easy in life in some way. They only seem to respect people who know what it's like to struggle like they have
Virgo Mars natives are low-key misanthropic and/or introverts. They don’t like being around people for too long cause they very easily feel a lot of disdain for others' dumb and nonsense behaviors. It’s like they seem to be so easily exasperated by everything and everyone
Also, I’ve noticed Virgo Mars people are the type to stay low profile during conflicts or tense situations, mostly choose flight over fight response. They are surprisingly calm and collected and will find a solution or escape in no time. When they feel threatened and choose to fight tho… they get cold-blooded af
Taurus Venus natives are so POISED and elegant and I say that as a libra venus. You will never see them being messy, they behave with a lot of class always
Venus-Sun conjunction in synastry is actually not so good imo. In a natal chart this is considered a weak aspect for relationships because venus is combust. When we find it in synastry, this means Sun person combusts venus person. At best Venus person almost worships Sun person to their detriment. At worst Venus person feels like sun person is too much and tends to see the sun person as too obnoxious
I also think this is why Sun-Moon conjunction in synastry is overrated. Moon is too soft of a planet and sun feeds off of the moon’s affection while moon becomes attached and drained. I’ve very often seen with this aspect how sun person unknowingly offends or hurts moon person in some way
Also, strong venus synastry between women can manifest as toxic competition, "cat fight" energy
Venus opposite/square Moon is a very phony aspect tbh specially the square. They appear to be way nicer than they actually are
I've noticed men with Leo placements tend to be pretty sexist and openly defend traditional gender roles or patriarchy values. The instinct of Leo men is to be the 'king', the leader and Alpha just like actual lions. However if they also have strong feminine energy in their chart such as major water and earth energy they tend to show more benevolent sexism or chivalry behavior
Gemini placements will immediately like you if you are someone who is open to chill chats with them and you overall make them feel like they can freely rant to you about random stuff
Cancers are very infantilized but imo they are the least naive and most intelligent out of all the water signs. Cancer Moons in particular I've noticed can actually have a very accurate and impartial intuition. Cancer Moons have this ability to just understand and accept people's feelings, intentions and situations exactly for what they are without any judgement which makes them VERY intelligent people. Idk I’ve just seen cancer moons are actually the most level-headed out of all water moons
Leo Venus honestly give me huge pick-me vibes and low-key have the personality of a spoiled brat fr. I've seen ppl with this placement be a lil to obsessed with getting sexual attention and being the most desirable person in the room
honestly I've noticed that the people I genuenly get along with the best in the long run are people I have 1st house synastry with. There's something about 1st house synastry that feels SO uplifting and refreshing like there's this spark everytime you see or are with this person and you just naturally get eachother's vibe
That said, 7th house synastry is a bit overrated imo. Again, not saying it is bad but this is the house of open enemies as well as partnerships. 7th house represents parts of yourself you have a hard time accessing and that's why you attract people with this energy. Therefore 7th house synastry often creates love-hate dynamics, cause it's like yeah you like the person on a surface level but there's always some hidden 'BUT' bc they low-key embody the exact opposite of what you identify (1st house)
6th house synastry is very common in people that dislike each other, specially the house person disliking the planets person
Virgo placements are STARVED for validation like no other sign but they hide this well cause they don't wanna appear desperate. They tend to carry this teachers pet behavior to all sorts of aspects of their life hence the trope of virgo being obedient or goodie-two-shoes
I need to ask Capricorn Mars people: when do y’all sleep? Every single minute of these people’s lives is occupied with some activity, be that work or leisure. And funny thing is they never seem to be overwhelmed or tired at all, in fact the more they do the more energized they seem to be
Something else I’ve noticed with Capricorn Mars is that they tend to have a very bold and obnoxious personality. Even if they are more introverted, they tend to be a little too direct to the point where they can come across as rude, insensitive and power-hungry. But at the same time this makes them appear competent and confident and a lot of ppl like that about them
Scorpio Juno natives tend to be very opportunistic and greedy when it comes to business. Sometimes to the point of having questionable work ethic sometimes. Overall this is a major placement for indicating talent in business or finance and making a lot of money
Libra Venus natives have a wondering eye definitely. What makes them start to consider someone as a potential partner is looks first and foremost, the rest comes later lol
I once saw an observation that said “gemini placements want you to listen to them but they won’t listen to you” and let me tell you this is a FACT. Talking with a Gemini placement feels like they’re just brain dumping stuff on you💀💀Love you guys tho
Libra loves to flex their wealth, achievements and status a lot more than Capricorn/Scorpio/Leo
Capricorn placements are naturally good educators and they honestly give me influencer energy low-key. They just naturally have this trustworthy and competent energy that when they lean into guiding and teaching people in some way they really excel and attract success the most
Venus-Venus synastry >>>>>> Venus-Mars synastry. With Venus-Venus aspects (even harsh ones) there’s a natural desire to bond/come together with this person in some way no matter what, so the attraction is most of the time mutual and very lasting. You also just naturally like each other and genuinely enjoy each other’s presence. If the relationship is sexual then the sex is just as good if not better than with Mars cause Venus rules pleasure and you’ll both want to please each other while Mars tends to be more self-serving sexually
This is not to say Venus-Mars aspects in synastry are bad, they definitely can create nice bond, chemistry and all of that. But Venus and Mars have opposing natures which can create strong attraction and irresistible pull because they compliment each other but at the same time it can also manifest as mismatching dynamics in the relationship where you aren't always in the same page, specially with harsh aspects. Just my opinion tho.
I know I've said this before but I wanna reiterate that Mars in the 7th house synastry does not reap good results in the long run as per my observation. Its giving friends-to-enemies or lovers-to-enemies energy. There's this feeling of instantly clicking with this person but very soon becomes evident that the two people have conflicting drives and desires which creates a LOT of tensions and unspoken competition/resentment. I've noticed it creates a dynamic where eventually one or both but specially the mars person in particular ends up resenting the house person
I’ve also talked about this before but I just keep observing that Moon-Saturn conjunction often appear to be very thoughtful, mature and kind because they’re very calm and observant of others but you very quickly notice that they actually seem to be completely and genuinely apathetic towards others’ emotions fr. They are aware of people's feelings and can actually understand them fairly well but it's like they observe them from an outside perspective like they're studying others rather than getting emotionally involved with them in an empathetic way. This behavior can have its positives but honestly for the most part I've seen that it makes the natives pretty shady and two-faced due to the strategic nature of Saturn. People with this aspect can play double agent exceptionally well
The most short-tempered mars sign as per my observation is Taurus Mars hands down. They're moody and unpredictable af.
Gemini Mars people have this oddly calm and aloof energy to them where they look like they’re only two sentences away from sending you to the therapist if you upset them in the slightest (they scare me)
I’ve noticed it’s actually Aries and Aquarius placements who love the enemies to lovers trope. Aries is the type to enjoy playful bullying or little dramatic arguments while Aquarius is more about the cat and mouse dynamic, flirting while acting uninterested and things like that. I've noticed they both love this vibe of almost daring the other person and feeling intrigued.
Speaking of, Aries Venus people confuse the shit out of me cause you gotta be a lil bit of an ice queen in order for them to like you😭 And they themselves act in ways that you'd think they hate you and wanna piss you off or create tension but they're just teasing, they wanna see what you're made of. That's why I said they "lack charisma" not because they don't have any but cause they have a very specific charm that can very often rub a lot of people the wrong way (cause it goes against venus' universally plesant nature), same with the other debilitated Venus positions
Gemini moons 🤝 being emotionally unavailable.
Gemini placements 🤝 being forgetful AS FUCK. Not so much if they also have taurus placements tho
Something I've seen in a loooooot in the synastry of those married couples where the man is head over heels obsessed with his wife is the man's Lilith conjunct the woman's inner placements or angles SPECIALLY her ASC or Venus. She is his weakness and it's that kind of relationships where he can't take his eyes (and hands) off of her and he is fiercely determined to make her his
Something else I've seen in the synastry of married couples is the man's mars falling on the woman's 4th house. He wants to protect her and start a family with her
Aquarius ASC in the composite chart gives off HUGE situationship vibes frrr. I've noticed that couples who have this tend to fully act like they're in a relationship but if you ask them if they're dating they'll tell you they aren't cause they never made anything official. This is the type of connection where they've been together for years but it is uncertain where there relationship is going long-term, nothing's ever officialized or set in stone (Cap 12th house) kinda like "yeah idk one day we'll get married I guess who knows"

Fawn and the wolf
Summary: You're the smallest one on the team, and you have the compulsive need to prove yourself to Ghost... but have you chewed off more than you can swallow?
Pairing: Simon!Ghost Riley x Fem!Reader 'Bambi'
Warnings: Unspecified age gap, but implied that it's large, Power imbalance (military superior and soldier), DubCon, Degradation, Forcefulness, Smut, Dirty themes, Dirty talk, Dead Dove Do Not Eat, Unsafe use of a gun... Read at your own risk
Wc: 4k
Notes: I have never written cod smut before and I know nothing about military stuff so bare with me, also this is way darker than my previous pieces, just a heads up. I love your notes in the comments so tell me what you think! also note that Bambi is a nickname.
You stretch your arms, extending them in front of your chest, rolling your wrists around. The smell of coffee invades your every sense—on early mornings like these on base, the cheap coffee your superiors buy for the worn down common room is like your own personal brand of cocaine, the only thing that wakes you up after sleeping too little.
The physical aspects of military training are tough. They were almost a deal-breaker for you when you first came here... but over time, they had gotten easier. You had grown to enjoy the burn of a long run or the sting of a cold shower after extensive muscle training. After a while, feeling and seeing the results became almost addictive—but that didn't take away from the fact that most days, you were almost too tired to function. Most of the required workouts you were forced to endure were designed for men twice your size, and frankly, you found it a bit sexist. Why couldn't your superior adjust them to fit you better? It would take him a maximum of 20 minutes. You had come to the conclusion that he was a sadistic asshole who enjoyed torturing you every single day with insane workouts.
You hear the coffee drip slowly into the pot. You're too tired to fully open your eyes—even putting on gear this morning had felt like an impossible task. But here you were, awake (barely), in gear, and ready to start training in a couple of minutes. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you have the huge coffee mug in your hands—burning hot, probably making the skin beneath it fiery red, but you are too exhausted to care.
You barely have time to swallow your first sip of the steaming, bitter, brown liquid when the door to the common room opens forcefully. Like instinct, you are up and alert—you can't show weakness here. You're already considered the runt of your entire team, being the youngest and also a woman. You turn around, ready to greet whoever it is with the alertness and determination of a starving fox during winter, hunting for the last rabbit left in the forest.
"Mornin', Bambi." Ghost said, his voice hoarse—but his manner alert and assertive, like always.
Bambi is your nickname on base, given to you by squadmates the first week you arrived. You liked to think it was because you were pretty like a fawn, but obviously, it was given to you for more degrading purposes. Everyone on your team thought of you as inexperienced, naive, and wide-eyed. But everyone had their own slightly degrading nickname, even your commander, Ghost. His real name was Simon Riley, but he was given the name Ghost because he stood out and had a tendency to move around quietly, like a ghost, not to mention his patent skull hood, a tactic to scare or to hide? No one knew.
"Good morning, sir," You said, trying to sound as awake as possible, waiting for the tension in the room to cool off before taking another careful sip of your coffee.
Ghost walks over to the coffee maker nonchalantly and pours himself a tall cup of coffee. You are surprised that he would even need caffeine—he's like a machine, inhuman—you've never seen him show any signs of weakness, and the manner in which he leads the team is brutal. He doesn't care if you're too tired to do push-ups; he will make you do them. Sometimes you consider the possibility that he just has no human emotions, or that he's a robot or something. Regardless of all this, you often find yourself with a compulsive need to make him happy. It's like you have to prove yourself to him constantly. You rarely complain to him about the difficult exercises he puts your team through, although you want to.
You've never been the kind of girl that just sits there quietly and lets everyone walk all over her. No—you’re the kind of girl who used to stand up for her friends in elementary school when the boys would pull their hair. You're the kind of girl that couldn't be mistaken for a doormat because you make your opinions known. If you weren't so fiery, you would never make it in the squad. Your squadmates are like brothers to you. You play rough—but when it comes to Ghost, you find that all your outward confidence just crumbles in his vicinity, and you become this pathetic rookie he can treat however he wants to. Although, you find that the same happens to most of the men on your team. Ghost is eerily calm; he radiates this quiet, overpowering energy, like a psychological horror film. And it makes everyone below him obey his commands like dogs. But it also makes you crave his approval. He never yells at you, but he never praises you either—it makes you almost obsessively try to get a reaction out of him with your good work on the exercises.
“We're doing the shooting range and combat alone today. Don't be late.” And with that, he's out of the door, leaving behind nothing but an empty coffee mug and a slight lingering smell of smoky cologne.
As you stand anxiously at the metal door of the gun range, it's like your body is stopping you from going in. You can feel the harsh cargo pants rubbing against your legs in an annoying manner, and your shirt feels too tight around your armpits—also, the coffee you drank did nothing but replace your tiredness with urgent nervousness. You've never trained with Ghost alone, but last week you were sick, so this morning you had to wake up before the sun to play catch-up with him. You are a great shooter, it's in your blood… but you have a gnawing feeling that being so close to Ghost will mess with your aim, and you will disappoint him.
You swallow the lump in your throat and force your hand to go up to the door handle. As you push open the heavy door, the lighting inside the gun range is dim—you can barely make out Ghost's silhouette, standing near the guns. You step inside carefully, as if you need to be quiet. But the gun range was far from housing; it stood alone on the other side of the base, with only woods surrounding it—you're also pretty sure it's soundproof, but not entirely sure. The range smells like mold and gunpowder, it's oddly comforting.
“Are you just going to stand there or come in?” Ghost says in a low voice, sounding indifferent—but nonetheless intimidating. You make your way inside and close the door behind you.
“Lock it.” He commands, not even trying to phrase it as a question, just a blunt order. You feel a little confused as to why he would want you to lock the door, but alas, you twist the lock until it clicks, and walk over to Ghost wearily.
“No lights?” You ask, trying to calm your nerves by talking, your hands finding the hem of your shirt and fidgeting with it.
“Burnt fuse. I expect you have no trouble shooting in the dark, rookie?” He says—it sounds like a snarky remark. You're annoyed at his tone. Obviously, you find it hard to shoot in the dark—but you can't tell him that. He'd paint you as weak and incapable.
“No problem.” You gear up, putting on hearing protectors and safety goggles. You take a gun, a simple, sleek Beretta 91, and you point it at the cardboard target ahead, waiting for Ghost to give you the okay to shoot. You are faced with silence. As you turn to look at Ghost, you see him standing next to you with a wide stance, his arms crossed over his chest, the sleeves of his black t-shirt tightening and showing off his muscles. He stares you down intensely.
“What are you doing wrong?” He asks, sounding annoyed, like you should know all this by now—although you haven't even trained shooting much.
“I—I don't know.” You hesitate, checking that the gun safety is off, your gear is on, and that you're facing the right way—you look at Ghost, confused.
“Your stance is all wrong, Bambi.” Without giving you a second to react, he moves behind you and guides your hands to the correct position. He kicks your legs farther apart and taps your thigh to signal you to move your foot slightly to the left. The gesture has nothing inherently sexual to it, but it makes a knot start to form in your lower stomach.
Ghost isn't a bad-looking man, or at least his body isn't—no one on your team has ever seen his face. He hides behind his signature skull balaclava daily, only revealing his dark brown eyes, and you presume he only takes it off to sleep and shower… if then. He has the type of body that any respectable captain would be expected to have—he's all muscle and mass. Not only that, but he's tall and broad, and if he was anyone else, you'd be trying to flirt with him every time you saw him… but even attempting to flirt with a higher-up is highly frowned upon here—you would both get fired. Also, it's not so difficult to push aside your feelings for someone who makes you train until failure every single day and rules your unit with an iron fist.
“Shoot.” Ghost orders, keeping his hold on your upper arms, directing the gun to hit the target right in the chest. He's standing so close to you that you can feel the heat radiating off him—he towers over you, and being caged in his hold like this sort of makes you feel safe. The feeling doesn't last long when he removes his hands from yours and steps back, resuming his position as the judgy officer watching you train intently.
“Now try it by yourself. Less than seven points, and you get punished.” He says, his voice dark and determined. He looks at you through narrow eyes, and his stance remains official and intimidating. It's not even his worst request—last night, he punished your fellow teammate with 100 push-ups for laughing during training. If he made you do that many push-ups right now, you would probably collapse—you needed to get this.
With nervous, shaky hands, you point the barrel of the pistol the same way as last time, you gather all your courage, only able to think of one thing— one hundred push-ups, before sunrise. Or maybe he'll make you do something worse, 200 burpees… 150 pull-ups. You shake off the distracting thoughts and by some miracle, you pull the trigger-- the bullet hits the very corner of the cardboard target, and you visibly cringe at the sight. You got zero points… you curse yourself in your mind, how could you be this bad, now he's going to make you do so many push-ups. Slowly, you turn to look at Ghost— he doesn't look disappointed, his position remains calm and collected, and that's what scares you the most.
“Get on your knees.” He says, darkly, you think it's a joke at first, but his eyes remain serious. Your eyes widen as you try to process the words that just came out of his mouth.
“Now.” He adds, when you don't move. Maybe it's just your dirty mind… maybe he meant nothing crude with it, maybe it's a new form of punishment in your squad. So you put the gun down on the cold metal desk, and slowly, anxiously, you start to lower yourself onto your knees. Ghost remains cool, his gaze following yours, as you fall lower and lower, until your knees hit the ground. He takes a couple of steps closer to you, forcing you to be face to face with his crotch. He picks up the gun from the desk, and your mouth goes dry when you try to focus, to hear the safety click on, but it never does. He crouches down slightly, and brings the barrel to your chin, lifting your chin up, and straining your neck as you're forced to look up at him.
“Do you think I haven't noticed the way you look at me when I teach combat?” He asks, his voice remaining low and calm. You're shaking, with nervousness or anticipation— you're not entirely sure.
“I— ” You begin your sentence, but are quick to notice that no other words are coming out— you wonder what he'll do to you… he might send you home, or hurt you.
“I know all the others think you're this naive little Bambi, but I see through that— you're a fucking slut.” He puts emphasis on the word slut, and the contrast between his collected voice, and the crude words, makes the knot in your lower stomach tighten, and worsens the heat between your thighs.
“And you think I don't hear you in the common room, complaining to the others about my training methods—it's like you're begging to be put in your place.”
“I haven't sai-” You begin frantically explaining, but quickly stop as he hits the gun against your chin, a clear sign to remind you who's in control.
“I suggest you shut the fuck up.” He stares into your eyes with the intensity of a hungry wolf. You expect that sort of raw intensity from him, but you are never prepared for it. You can see the conflict in his mind, in his eyes—you can almost feel what he's thinking. Furthermore, you can sense the war going on in his head; you are fighting the exact same one in yours.
“You know—in war, the good people get eaten.” He starts, enigmatically.
“What do you mean?”
“You know what happens to the smart people?” He asks, almost expecting you to give the wrong answer, his demeanor remaining slightly degrading.
“They survive?” You ask, unsure of what he's trying to say.
“They go bad.”
You look at him, confused. His words sound almost apocalyptic. You're trying to figure out what he means by them… does he mean that he's gone bad? Maybe that you should go bad? What does going bad even mean?
“Which one are you, little Bambi?”
“Smart.”
“Wrong answer.” He throws the gun on the floor, the safety remaining off, but you have no time to think about gun safety right now— as he begins to forcefully unbuckle his black, leather belt, you can't help but feel all your senses heightened, intensely pumping through your body. You can feel the heat rising up your chest, over your throat, into your cheeks and ears, turning them undoubtably red. You can hear the broken clock on the wall tick sporadically, in a completely unorganized manner. The sound of his belt buckle flying open almost hurts your ears. You imagine this is what rabbits feel, in that small window of time, right before they get eaten, when they feel the fox's eyes on them, lurking somewhere in the dangerous night. You look up into his eyes, pleading with your gaze, but you are met with a look that could almost be mixed up with sympathy. He looks like a disappointed teacher, handing you a test with a failed grade, knowing that he's the one who failed you, but displays a fake, degrading sympathy in his eyes.
He takes his cock out of his black cargo pants, it looks almost intimidating. You can't see his mouth, but you swear he's smiling a sadistic smile under his mask. He wraps his big, warm hand, into your hair, where your occiput meets the back of your neck, and he pulls your head back— the motion stings, but it brings your attention to him, away from your thoughts. When he sees you've returned from inside your head, to the current moment, he pushes your head forward. Instinctively, you open your mouth, almost inviting him in— he stuffs his rock-hard cock into your mouth, with little regard for your feelings.
“See, you're too good for war, Bambi.” He remarks, his voice soft, you can feel the patronizing tone pierce through you and hit the warm spot between your legs like lighting. You try to answer him, but your mouth lets out a small, pathetic moan, as he pushes himself further into your throat, making your eyes tear up.
“A smart girl would've never come into a dark shooting range with a dangerous man. You're too good, and you're too dumb— that's why you get eaten alive.” His words remain condescending, degrading, but his voice keeps a calm, soft tone, which contrary to what you'd hope it would do, turns you on like nothing you've ever experienced before.
Finally, he pulls you off his cock. You gasp for air, confused as to why he would stop before he finished— but it gives you an eerie sensation that there's more to come. And while you wish you could hate this, while you wish you could call him an absolute creep and report him to someone… you were smart. You had come into this dark room with this dangerous man, with full awareness and a calculated plan. You saw how he looked at your pleading eyes when he made you train until failure. Furthermore, you saw the bulge in his pants when in late night combat sessions he got you under him, and you looked like a scared rabbit. When you started in his unit, a while ago— you gathered that the best way to survive, was to play into the naive role, in reality, you were exceptionally smart, top of your class. But they didn't need to know that. Every single time Ghost talked down on you, you felt like you had the control, you'd made the decision to act dumb, to get him to lose control ever so slightly, because he gave into his anger.
Much to your avail, he turns around, going to fetch something out of the gun range closet. Dumb move, because when he was turned away from you, you grabbed the gun off the floor, making a quick, uncalculated move. As he turns around, he sees you nowhere, despite being a tough military officer, he feels a slight eeriness about not seeing you… like in horror movies, when the innocent kid starts acting odd and eventually kills everyone. He stands still, looking around the pitch black room as best as he can, until he feels the cold nozzle of a pistol on his mid back. He turns to face you, with a blank expression, and you see the rope in his hands.
“The smart people go bad, no?” You smile a wicked grin, you have the control now… and you want him to know it.
“Drop the rope and get on the floor.”
You thought he'd resist, that he'd fight the gun off your hands— but he just lays down on the cold concrete, and supports his head on his hands, and smiles at you, a smile proposing a challenge. You keep the gun in your hand, as you make your way on top of him, straddling him.
“What's your big, smart plan now, Bambi?” He says, with an annoying amount of confidence painting his words.
You bend down on top of him, and push your lips against his, like you want to devour him. His lips feel surprisingly soft, and you can still taste the faint residue of coffee and cigarettes on his tongue. He doesn't fight for dominance, instead, he sort of submits to the kiss, letting you take the lead. You feel like you've won the game, until his hips come crashing into yours, his bulge pressing against your most sensitive spot. Your mouth opens and leaves his ever so slightly, and you don't notice the gun falling out of your hand. With the newly gained advantage, Ghost pushes his tongue into your mouth, starting the long overdue war for dominance. You try to fight it, trying to gain back the small amount of control you crave— but he turns you around with ease, until he has you on your back. He's straddling you with knees on both sides of you, and his hands holding your arms tightly on both sides of your head. You're trapped again.
He doesn't waste time taunting you, he's done playing the game. Hastily, his hands leave their bruising grip on your wrists and find the button of your pants. He moves quickly and removes your pants with a sense of urgency— you don't try to stop him, you leave your hands laying where he's been holding them, and you let him remove your pants, and then your underwear. His finger finds a spot very close to your most sensitive one, but it doesn't hit the spot you need it to. He continues this torture for a while, until he stops completely and looks at you.
“No attempts to stop this? No fighting?” He questions. You never took him for this clueless. You move your hand to his, and grab it, bringing his entire hand to your throbbing center, and forcing him to please you. With a breathy voice, you say.
“Just shut the fuck up and fuck me.”
He doesn't need another word from you, as he spreads your thighs open with force, and pushes himself into you— giving you no time to get used to his size. With no warning, he starts pumping into you relentlessly, keeping up a torturous pace you thought was only possible in porn. When you open your mouth slightly, to complain or to moan, you're not sure. He stops you, wrapping his veiny hand around your throat, in an attempt to show you who's actually in control. It only makes you wetter, you like having him so desperate for control, that he would choke his own soldier— you think it only makes him seem weaker. When he loses himself like this, it's you that gains the upper hand.
“You're never telling anyone about this.” He says, through desperate pants. His hand on your throat tightens ever so slightly.
“Wouldn't want you to get fired, perv.” You shoot him a snarky remark, trying to sound confident— but the whimpers in between every word make you sound more like a pathetic adolescent. His lips latch onto your neck, biting it so intensely, his sharp canine teeth pull a little blood. You love the contrast between pain and pleasure, and feel your orgasm building up. He can feel it too.
“Try to make a smart comment now, I dare you.” He bullies, and you try to say something smart, or just something, anything— but what comes out of your mouth is a deep guttural, animalistic moan, as your orgasm washes over you.
He begins to laugh in a low tone, in between groans, as he pulls out of you, and releases his cum onto your lower stomach. It would feel degrading and dehumanizing, if you weren't just fucked out of your mind. With a weak, breathy voice, you manage to say.
“I hate you.”
He laughs.
“Sure seems like it, Bambi.”

pale blue- o.piastri
your first season as an f1 driver doesn't start the best, and you quickly realise McLaren doesn't like women very much. On top of that, your race engineer is as smug as the rest of them, and you have to deal with him all the time.
pairing: race engineer! oscar piastri x f1driver! fem! reader
warnings: lots of misogyny, lando is an asshole in this, illusions to ed behaviour, reader is not in a good head space, all of mclaren is super sexist, mentions of crashes and injuries.

Baku. If you won this weekend, you’d be ahead of Max in the standings.
Quali came around much too quick, and it was only your first time on the circuit. Everyone seemed to forget the fact that you were a rookie, just because you were winning. You were on your final push lap, it was going well, but all it had to do was get you out of the bottom 5 (which you were in right now).
“Yellow flags!” Oscar called over the radio, causing you to instinctively slow down.
“What happened?” you panicked, radioing in.
“I’m not sure, but… we’re P15 and time is over. Sorry Y/n.”
“Fuck,” you whispered, hitting your steering wheel. “Where’s Norris?”
“He’s through.”
“The team can get a win this weekend, sorry about this guys,” you sighed, driving your car back into the pits and getting out of the car to get weighed and do your interviews. The time passed, and the debrief was clear, Lando was up in P2, ready to take the win tomorrow as you were once again, put on the back foot.
As you walked out of the room, pretty ready for a night of watching movies on your lonesome (you could finally look at screens again), Oscar came up to you.
“My family is here,” he told you. “If you’d like to meet them, we’re getting dinner. You’re more than welcome to join-”
“I wouldn’t want to impose-” you started.
“Please,” he begged. “My sisters really want to meet you.”
You smiled. “I’ll head back to the hotel and get changed.”
He smiled. “I’ll pick you up.”

He was shitting bricks when he knocked on your hotel room door. He was wearing a pale blue shirt and linen pants, something his mum had gifted him, and all he wanted was to see you have a night of being relaxed. He knew his family could be quite crazy, but he thought his mum’s sarcastic humor, Hattie’s easy conversation, Eddie’s laid back nature, Mae’s endless stories, his dad’s kind nature, and Tim’s easy charisma, it would all go well. They could do most of the talking, and you could just watch and enjoy it, even if you didn’t feel like talking.
You opened the door, a beautiful pale blue dress on your body, finalising your outfit with a pair of earrings. He stood there, stunned.
You were gorgeous. That was a fact he had been made acutely aware of months ago, but you were really beautiful tonight. He didn’t speak, and your cheeks heated as you let out an awkward laugh.
“I’m ready, sorry it took so long,” you smiled, stepping out from your room. “Let me just grab my jacket,” you said before turning and walking back into your room. His jaw actually dropped seeing the backless dress that went down to the end of your back. Thankfully, he picked his jaw back up before you turned around.
“These are for you,” he said, handing over the bouquet that had been clutched in his hand for a few moments, also pale blue lilies.
“They’re beautiful,” you smiled, surprised by the gesture. “I’ve never gotten flowers before.”
He frowned again, but smiled before you caught him. “I’m glad I could be the first one.”
You smiled, placed the flowers in your room, and joined him in the hallway. “So where are we going?”
“My mum found this really nice restaurant just a few minutes walk from here, if that’s alright?”
“Sounds perfect,” you agreed. As you two walked to the restaurant, you chatted about the weekend ahead, ideas for strategies, and at some point, he’d linked his arm with yours. You didn’t really mind.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ
The Piastri family were hilarious. Mae had told you so many stories by the time the appetisers rolled around, that you actually had to brace yourself against Oscar to stop yourself from falling off your chair. You were sat across from Mae, with Oscar to your left and Tim to your right. Their easy banter was amusing to say the least, and the conversations you had with Hattie about music, and with Eddie about her college courses were truly enjoyable. You loved hearing about their lives, such stark contrast to yours. Nicole and you ended up speaking about pilates and Oscar’s affinity for not doing his own laundry (you’d lived with him for two weeks, she apologised). By the end of the night, they’d all become your friends, and you’d barely seen Oscar, but he’d been watching you all night. He’d seen the way your eyes lit up every time Hattie mentioned a band or song you liked, how you listened so intently to Mae’s stories, how you cared about the topics his mum spoke about, how you threw jokes back and forth with his dad and stepdad, how you asked such good questions about Eddie’s studies.
He loved it. He loved seeing you be free. He loved seeing you smile. He loved seeing you happy.
“I love gardening actually,” you answered when Nicole asked if you had any hobbies.
“She has a beautiful garden in Monaco,” Oscar explained, getting his phone out to show pictures. You felt yourself beam with pride. Pride wasn’t an emotion you allowed yourself to feel very often, but Oscar’s unashamed pride on your behalf must’ve been rubbing off on you, because you went through your entire garden in detail and gave Tim some advice on his garden.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ
You walked out of the restaurant feeling lighter than you had in a long time. You weren’t thinking about racing, you weren’t thinking about McLaren, you weren’t thinking about the tall order that tomorrow would bring, you were thinking about Oscar. He was busy saying good night to his family, wishing them well and telling them he’d see them tomorrow, and you stood and watched. He was so… Oscar. So calm, so loving, so caring. It made you feel… good. He made you feel good. Being near him made you feel good.
He turned to you and linked your arms, both of you starting the walk back to the hotel. “What did you think? Too much?”
You smiled. “They’re perfect. Very kind, very intelligent, very nice people, just like you. I see where you get it from.”
He beamed with pride. The night was a success. You had enjoyed yourself, and his family had met one of the most important people in his life. “I’m glad.”
“I’m really happy I came, thank you for inviting me, Osc,” you smiled.
“No problem,” he whispered.
The rest of the walk back to the hotel was quiet, but he noticed how you held him closer than before, up until you finally got outside your room. You leant against the door, a bashful smile on your face.
“Thank you for tonight,” you said. “I really had fun, for the first time in a while. Thank you, Osc.”
His heart was beating out of his chest. The prettiest girl in the whole world had a nickname for him. “I’m really glad you came, I had a lot of fun too,” he admitted. He took a step closer.
Was he going to kiss you? Did you want him to?
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he smirked, close enough to kiss you, but all he did was hug you, tucking your head into his neck. “You’ll do great tomorrow.”
“If I win it can I meet your family again?” you asked in a small, nervous voice. He chuckled.
“You can. But you also could probably see them whenever you want, you have all of their phone numbers,” he reminded you.
You shook your head. “I want you there too.”
“I’ll be there,” he whispered. “I’m always here for you, you know that, right?”
You nodded gently. So small, he almost didn’t feel it.
But he did. It was there.
“Thank you,” you whispered, then retreated into your bedroom.
You fell against your bed, so many questions swirling around your head as you pondered your growing feelings for your race engineer. He did the same thing. He sat at the end of his bed, wondering what he would do. He thought back to what his mother told him.
She held him close, hugging him as the night ended.
“She’s happier,” she smiled, talking about you.
“Yeah?” he asked. “What did you think of her?”
“I think she’s wonderful,” Nicole smiled. “The girls love her too. And I suspect you do too.”
He sighed, nodding. His mum always found out. She smirked.
“How do I-?” he questioned but she stopped him.
“It’ll happen, with time,m” she assured him. “She likes you too, she’s just not there yet. Don’t worry about it too much. Just be there for her. She needs someone.”
“I am here for her,” he assured her. “She wanted to meet you guys so badly,” he chuckled.
“She’s alone, isn’t she?” she asked. He knew better than to lie to his mum and nodded.
“I’m glad she has you Osc,” she smiled. “She’s good for you. You’re good for her.”
“I hope so,” he chuckled.
“It will be, with time,” she reminded him with a kiss to the cheek. “We’ll see you tomorrow. I love you.”
“Love you too mum,” he smiled.
He just needed to wait. He was good at that. He was a patient man, and if waiting meant seeing the real you with your real smile in that damned pale blue dress again, he’d wait a million lifetimes just to make you happy.
God, that was a little bit pathetic, wasn’t it?
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ Baku was one of your favourite circuits, you decided when you sat on the grid, waiting for the lights to go out. You had a good start, gaining places. Up in the points in one corner. After overtaking a while, a few laps of shouting at Oscar over the radio about pitting, you came into the pits, went back out, and somehow, got to the lead.
And you crossed the line first. Again.
“I guess we’re getting dinner again tonight,” you chuckled, a smile on your face.
“I guess we are,” Oscar nodded. “Stellar drive,” he commented. “Well done.”
7 time Grand Prix winner. You stepped up on the top of the podium, and you enjoyed it. You were the Champion, as of that day. Oscar took his celebratory selfie with some more of the team, and dinner was set for 8pm.
You liked Baku quite a lot.

Quinn had been convinced he had a type, until he met Hayden. The moment he laid eyes on the freckle-covered brunette behind the bar, all his ideas of the perfect woman went out the window.
He hadn't planned on approaching her that night--he rarely did that sort of thing--but something about her made it impossible to stay in his seat. Maybe it was the way her eyes sparkled as she teased the patrons, or the quick, confident way she moved, shaking cocktails and sliding beers across the counter without missing a beat. Or maybe it was her laugh, low and raspy, floating above the noise of the crowd and hitting him like a bucket of cold water.
When he reached the bar, he still hadn't figured out what to say. But she noticed him right away, tipping her head at him with an arched brow. "You gonna order something, or just stand there looking pretty?" she asked, smirking.
It had taken Quinn half a second too long to respond, his brain short-circuiting at the sound of her voice. Her smirk only deepened as she watched him scramble for words.
"Uh, yeah--just a beer. Whatever's on tap," he finally managed, shoving a hand through his hair.
"Sure thing, champ." She poured the drink in one smooth motion and set it in front of him, wiping her hands on a bar towel. "That'll be six bucks."
Quinn handed her a twenty. "Keep the change."
Her green eyes flicked up to meet his. "Big spender, huh?"
He shrugged, suddenly unsure of himself. "Just figured you deserve it. You're working hard."
That made her pause. The teasing look on her face softened for a split second, and she gave him a small smile before moving on to the next customer.
That had been six months ago. Now, Quinn had her memorized in ways he wasn't sure were healthy. He knew how her lips curved when she smiled, the exact spot on her shoulder that made her shiver when she kissed it, and the way her voice sounded when she moaned his name in the dark.
Not that they were anything serious--she'd made that clear from the start. "I'm not looking for a boyfriend, Hughes," she'd said one night, perched on the edge of his bed, wearing nothing but one of his hoodies. Her legs had been tucked under her, and her fingers toyed absently with the hem of the sweathshirt. "I don't have time for that right now. Gotta focus on work and school, and I don't need a distraction."
"Fair enough," he'd replied, leaning back against the headboard and trying to sound nonchalant, like her answer didn't sting just a little.
It wasn't like he could blame her. She worked crazy hours at the bar, saving every spare dollar for tuition. And yet, every few nights, she still found her way into his bed--or his car, or his couch--looking at him with those green eyes and making it very clear she wanted him.
And that was the problem, really. He knew exactly what she wanted from him, but the feelings that had started creeping up on him were a hell of a lot messier.
Like now, as they drove through the winding roads to the lake house. Hayden was sitting in the passenger seat, scrolling through her phone, completely oblivious to the way he kept sneaking glances at her. She'd insisted she could come as a friend--"We're just hanging out, right? Your brothers don't need to know anything."
Quinn had agreed, mostly because he didn't want to push his luck. But the idea of her spending an entire weekend around his brothers and friends--Jack, Luke, Cole, and Trevor--while pretending they didn't have history? He wasn't sure how he was supposed to keep it together.
Especially not when she looked like that.
~~
Quinn tightened his grip on the steering wheel, forcing himself to look at the road instad of Hayden. She was lounging in the passenger seat like she owned the place, legs pulled up and bare feet resting on the dash--something that normally annoyed him, but didn't when it was her. Her hair was twisted up on top of her head with a claw-clip, dark sunglasses perched on her nose, and her shorts were so short they were more like denim underwear. And worse, she didn't seem to have a single clue what she was doing to him.
"Any bets on how long before Trevor starts acting like an idiot?" she asked, not looking up from her phone.
Quinn exhaled, shaking his head. "Two minutes after we pull in."
Hayden snorted. "I'm giving him 30 seconds. Kid doesn't have an off switch."
"Don't let him get to you," Quinn warned, though his jaw clenched at the thought. He already knew how this was going to go: Trevor was going to flirt, Jack and Luke were going to egg him on, and Cole was going to sit back and stir the pot like the chaos-loving menace he was. The last thing Quinn needed was his brothers and friends turning this weekend into some weird interrogation.
She finally looked at him, dropping her phone onto her lap. "Relax, Hughesy. I can handle myself."
That was the problem. He knew she could handle herself. Hayden could flirt and toss back jabs like it was nobody's business. She was cool under pressure, quick with comebacks, and completely unfazed by guys like his friends. If anything, they were going to love her. Which was great--except it also meant they were going to keep pushing, keep prodding, and Quinn was going to have to sit there and pretend it didn't bother him.
He wasn't entirely sure he could pull that off.
The house was already crazy when they arrived. Quinn barely had time to turn off the engine before the front door flew open, and Jack and Trevor came sprinting out like a couple of dogs that'd been cooped up too long.
"Quinny!" Jack hollered, dragging out the name like he was twelve. His eyes darted to Hayden before a shit-eating grin stretched across his face. "And you brought a friend!"
"Careful, Jack, you're drooling," Hayden teased, sliding out of the car like she hadn't just turned Quinn's brain to mush.
Trevor skidded to a stop next to Jack, pushing his sunglasses up onto his head as he gave Hayden an exaggerated once-over. "Who's this?" he asked, like Quinn wasn't standing right there.
"Hayden," she said, unfazed. "You must be Trevor."
His grin widened. "Guilty. Did Quinn tell you that I'm his favourite?"
Quinn groaned, dragging their bags out of the trunk. "Literally no one has ever said that ever."
Trevor ignored him, zeroing in on Hayden. "So, you a hockey fan? Or did Quinny trick you into coming up here?"
Hayden shot Quinn a quick, amused look over her shoulder before turning back to the blond. "No tricks. I just like the lake."
"I'm gonna like you."
"Trevor," Quinn said sharply, but it was too late. Hayden was already laughing, and Trevor looked delighted, like he'd just discovered a new game.
This was going to be a long weekend.
~~
The kitchen was already loud by the time Quinn woke up the next morning. Jack was rummaging through the fridge, muttering complaints about the lack of skim milk, while Luke stood at the stove making ovens. Trevor was leaning against the counter, already drinking despite the early hour.
Then there was Hayden, perched on a stool like she'd been part of the group for years. She was wearing a tank top and athletic shorts, her legs crossed as she sipped a mug of coffee one of the guys had made for her. She looked completely at ease, laughing softly at something Trevor had just said.
"Morning, sunshine," Jack called out when he spotted Quinn. "You sleep okay on the couch?"
Trevor smirked. "Guess you're more of a gentleman than I thought, letting Hayden have the bed."
Quinn ignored him, heading straight for the coffee pot. "Someone had to make sure you idiots didn't scare her off already."
"We're harmless," Jack said, grabbing a yogurt and joining Hayden at the counter. "Right, Hayden?"
"Sure," she smiled. "Totally harmless."
Trevor licked his lips, setting down his beer. "So, Hayden, what's your deal? You work at a bar, right? Bet you've got some wild stories."
"Plenty," she said easily. "But I'm guessing you don't wanna hear about drunk bachleorette parties or old guys claiming they already tipped me when it's the first time I've ever seen them."
"Come on," Trevor said, flashing her his most charming grin. "What about the weirdest pickup line you've ever gotten?"
"I don't know... probably the guy who told me I had eyes like a mermaid and asked if I wanted to 'swim into his arms.'"
Jack snorted. "That's terrible."
"Right?" Hayden laughed again. "I told him I'd rather drown."
Trevor laughed so hard he nearly spilled his beer. "Okay, that's solid. But what about the best pickup line? You've gotta have one."
Quinn, pouring his coffee, clenched his jaw. He knew where this was going.
Hayden glanced at him briefly. "I don't really go for pickup lines," she shrugged. "If a guy's confident, he doesn't need one."
"Oh, I'm confident," Trevor leaned a little closer.
Hayden smirked. "Good for you, bud."
Quinn's knuckles tightened around his mug as he turned and leaned against the counter. "Shouldn't you save some of that energy for the lake, Trev? Or is embarrassing yourself in the water not enough anymore?"
Trevor shot him a look, but Hayden only smiled, her green eyes sparkling with amusement. "Careful, Hughesy," she said lightly. "You're starting to sound jealous."
Quinn froze, scrambling for a response. "I'm not--"
"She's got a point," Jack interrupted. "You're lookin' a little tense there, Quinny."
"I'm fine!"
Hayden raised her coffee mug to hide her smile, but the damage was already done.
Quinn's nerves were frayed by the end of breakfast. Hayden had slipped easily into the background, chatting with Luke about something or other, but Trevor and Jack were relentless in their interrogation.
"Hayden, what kind of guys do you usually go for?" Trevor asked carefully as they started clearing the plates.
Quinn stiffened, glancing at Hayden out of the corner of his eye. She didnt' miss a beat.
"Hmm. I guess I like guys who can make me laugh."
"That's me!" Trevor said excitedly.
"Right," she said, deadpan. "But I also like guys who know when to quit."
Jack laughed, clapping Trevor on the back. "Ouch! Guess you're out of luck, bud!"
Quinn didn't bother to hide his smirk, but his amusement didn't last long. Trevor wasn't giving up, and Hayden seemed determined to keep sparring with him.
The group wasted no time in dragging all their gear down to the water. Paddleboards, kayaks, and inner tubes littered the dock, and Jack was already trying to wrestle Luke into the water just for the sake of it.
Quinn had just finished setting up a folding chair near the edg of the dock when he caught sight of Hayden emerging from the house.
His brain short-circuited.
She was wearing a simple blue bikini, nothing overly flashy, but it might as well have been haute couture for the way it made his chest tighten. Her hair was loose now, claw clip abandoned, and her sungless perched on her pale nose as she carried a towel in one hand and a bottle of water in the other.
She walked like she owned the place, completely oblivious to how every head on the dock turned her way.
"Jesus, Quinn," Jack grinned. "Where'd you find her?"
Quinn scowled. "Shut up, Jack."
"Hey, Hayden!" Trevor called, waving her over like they were old friends. "You ever paddleboard before?"
Hayden stopped at the edge of the dock, plating her hands on her hips. "Once or twice. Why?"
Trevor pulled a board toward himself. "Because you're about to get a free lesson from the best."
"You mean Luke?" she quipped, smirking proudly.
Trevor clutched his chest like she'd stabbed him. "That hurts. I'm actually really fucking great at this!"
"Uh-huh." Hayden tossed her towel onto a chair, kicking off her sandals. "Fine. Show me what you've got."
Quinn groaned internally as Trevor guided her toward the paddleboard. He tried to focus on adjusting one of the chairs, but his eyes kept returning to Hayden as Trevor "helped" her climb onto the board.
"Keep your knees bent," Trevor said, standing waist-deep in the water beside her. "It's all about balance."
"Got it," Hayden said, adjusting her stance.
"You're a natural," he grinned up at her. Then, with an exaggerated wave of his arm, he tipped her board slightly to the side, sending her wobbling.
Quinn tensed instinctively, stepping toward the edge of the dock, but Hayden quickly recovered, giving Trevor a look that could melt steel.
"Do that again, and you're swimming home with this thing shoved up your ass," she said flatly.
Luke burst out laughing from where he was lounging on an inner tube. "She's not wrong, Trev. You're annoying as fuck."
Trevor ignored him, hopping onto his own paddleboard. "Alright, then. Let's race."
"You're on," Hayden paddled toward the deeper water with ease.
Quinn really wanted to stay out of it, but watching Trevor and Hayden laughing and splashing each other in the middle of the lake was slowly driving him insane. He stood at the edge of the dock, hands on hips like a dad, until Jack strolled over and gave him a knowing look.
"You good, man? You've been standing there glaring at Trevor for five minutes."
"I'm not glaring," Quinn said, moving to cross his arms.
"Sure," Jack said, dragging out the word. "Hey, maybe we should all take turns teaching Hayden how to paddleboard. I mean, I've got skills."
"Don't."
Jack raised his hands in surrender, laughing as he walked away.
~~
Quinn moved from standing to sitting, his feet in the water, when Hayden paddled back toward him. Trevor had abandoned his board by this point, leaving her to float leisurely near the dock.
"Not bad, huh?" she said, smirking as she climbed off the board and into the shallow water.
"You handled yourself," Quinn said, shrugging like it didn't matter.
Hayden raised an eyebrow, stepping closer until she was standing waist-deep in the water in front of him. "You sure you're okay? You've been looking kind of... tense."
"I'm fine," he said, though his shoulders gave him away.
"Right." She reached past him to grab her towel, her arm brushing his in the process. The touch was brief, accidental, but it was enough to send a jolt through him.
"Hayden," Trevor called from the shore, "you wanna head out again? I think I can beat you this time."
Quinn didn't miss how Trevor's eyes flicked down to Hayden's legs as she pushed herself up on the dock, or the stupid grin on his face when she finally looked at him.
"Pass," she waved him off. "I've already proven I'm better than you."
Quinn couldn't help it; he smirked.
As Hayden sat down beside him to dry off, he caught her looking at him through the corner of her eye. "You're glaring again," she mumbled, covering it with a fake cough.
"I'm not."
"Sure..."
Quinn didn't say anything, looking back out over the water. Trying his hardest, and failing, to think of anythingbut how much longer this weekend was going to last.
~~
Dinner was even more chaotic... if that was possible.
The dining table was a mix of empty beer bottles, half-eaten burgers, and bowls of chips scattered across every inch of available surface. Luke and Jack had teamed up on the grill, burning half the patties while Trevor heckled them from his seat. Cole had claimed his spot across from Hayden, watching things unfold with a look on his face that Quinn was starting to resent.
And of course, Hayden--perfectly unbothered--sat at Quinn's right, sipping a beer and laughing at the guys' stupid antics. Quinn tried not to notice how her shoulder brushed his every time she shifted in her seat.
"So, Hayden," Trevor said suddenly, wiping ketchup off his fingers, "we've all been wondering--what's your deal?"
"My deal?" she bit back a smile.
"You know," he leaned foward on his elbows. "What's a girl like you doing hanging out with a guy like Quinn?"
Quinn choked on a sip of water, sputtering into his napkin. "Jesus, Trevor."
"What?" he innocently flashed a grin. "I'm just saying. You're cool, Hayden. You've got, like, a vibe. Quinn's... well. Quinn."
Hayden turned to Quinn, tilting her head dramatically as if evaluating him. "You're right. I could probably do better."
The table erupted into laughter, Jack banging his fist against the table as Trevor fell back in his chair. Quinn groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose, though he couldn't stop the smile tugging at his lips.
"See?" Trevor said, pointing at Hayden like she'd just proven his point. "I like her. She's honest."
"Honest, huh?" Hayden smirked, lifting her beer to her lips. "Careful, Z. I don't think you can handle honest."
Trevor was undeterred. "Oh, I can handle honest. Hit me."
"Alright. Honestly? You talk a lot of shit for someone who fell off a paddleboard twice today."
"Hey! The second time didn't count!" Trevor argued, pointing a potato chip at her. "I was distracted."
"By what?"
"By you," he smirked, like he thought he was the smoothest guy ever.
Quinn's hand clenched under the table. He forced himself to take a sip of his drink, trying to mask his irritation.
"Well, don't let it happen again. I'd hate for you to embarrass yourself three times today," she giggled.
Luke snorted into his drink, while Cole howled from the other side of the table.
"I don't embarrass easily."
"Could've fooled me," Hayden said, giving Quinn's thigh a squeeze under the table.
"You're good at this," Jack laughed. "You should come to dinners more often."
"Don't encourage her," Quinn rolled his eyes.
"Oh, come on, Quinny," Jack nudged him with his elbow. "You're just mad she's better at coming up with comebacks than you are."
"Not mad."
"Uh-huh. I'll see it when I believe it, Quinnifer."
~~
Once the plates were cleared and the guys had moved outside to do god-knows-what, Quinn hang back in the kitchen, rinsing dishes just to keep his hands busy. Hayden lingered, drying plates as they were handed to her.
"You sure you're okay, Q?"
"I'm fine," he said, though his jaw was still tight.
"You've been 'fine' all day," she teased. "You sure you don't want to try a different excuse?"
He sighed, setting down the plate he was holding. "They're onto us."
"So? Let them wonder. What's the worst that could happen?"
Quinn stared at her, incredulous. "Are you serious? We're not... dating. I... don't need them knowing about... us."
"You're worried because we're casual? Quinn, I'm sure they've all had flings before."
"But, you--"
"Hayden! Quit flirting with my brother and come play pong!" Jack called from the sliding door.
"Coming!" she pressed a quick kiss to Quinn's cheek before rounding the corner and disappearing out of his sight. Maybe Hayden was going to be the death of him and not this weekend.
~~
The house was finally quiet.
Quinn lay on the couch, staring at the ceiling lit dimly from a lamp in the corner, the soft hum of fridge the only sound he could hear along with the occasional snore from upstairs (Trevor). His pillow was lumpy, the blanket was scratchy, and he'd long given up trying to get comfortable. He wasn't sure how long he'd been lying there, but it felt like hours.
Everyone had settled for the night, laughter and shouting just a ghost of the day now. Trevor had been the last holdout, talking loudly about his plans to crush everyone at volleyball the next day until Jack shoved him up the stairs to the guest room.
Quinn waited until he was sure--absolutely sure--the house was still. Then, as quiet as possible, he swung his legs off the couch, folding the blanket and tossing it over the armrest.
The door to his bedroom creaked slightly as he opened it, and he winced, glancing over his shoulder to make sure nobody had heard. The hallway remained silent, and he slipped inside, shutting the door softly behind him.
Hayden was lying on her side, her back to the door. She was scrolling through her phone, her hair splayed out across the pillow, one of his old t-shirts draped loosely over her frame.
"Took you long enough," she murmured, not bothering to turn around.
Quinn rolled his eyes, tugging his hoodie over his head and tossing it onto his desk chair. "I had to wait for them to fall asleep."
"They're not asleep," Hayden said, her voice low but teasing. "Trevor's probably lying awake right now, trying to figure out if you're sneaking up here or not."
Quinn froze, his hand on the edge of the bed. "He's not."
"Wanna bet?"
He sighed, pulling back the covers and sliding into bed beside her. "If he was, he'd already be at the door making some dumb comment."
"Fair point," she sighed, finally setting her phone on the nightstand and turning to face him. Her eyes gleamed faintly in the low light from the hallway. "Still, you're playing a dangerous game, Quinny."
Quinn propped himself up on one elbow, frowning at her. "I'm not the one who spent the entire day letting Trevor flirt with me."
She smirked. "What was I supposed to do? Tell him to stop? That'd make things way more suspicious."
"You didn't have to encourage him."
"I wasn't encouraging him," Hayden cocked an eyebrow. "I was shutting him down."
Quinn scoffed. "You call that shutting him down?"
"What would you call it?"
"Flirting," he muttered, unable to keep the bite out of his tone.
Her smirk only widened. "You sound jealous."
"I'm not--"
"Relax," her tone softened. "If I wanted Trevor, I'd be in his bed right now."
Quinn stared at her, unsure of how to respond. Her tone was casual, but held a quiet reassurance he hadn't been expecting.
"Besides," she added, shifting onto her back, "he's not my type."
"Yeah? What is your type?"
Hayden turned to look at him, biting her lip to hold back her smile. "You really wanna know?"
"Yeah," he said, his throat dry.
She didn't answer right away, letting the silence stretch between them. Then, finally, she reached out, her fingers brushing lightly against his arm. "Go to sleep, Huggy."
He exhaled a quiet laugh, lying back against the pillow. "Night, Hayden."
If I wanted Trevor, I'd be in his bed right now.
He wasn't sure if that made him feel better or worse... so much worse.
~~
Jack and Trevor had dragged the volleyball net out from the shed, while Luke attempted to detangle it and Cole sat nearby offering unhelpful commentary.
"Hayden, you any good at volleyball?" Trevor asked, tossing the ball lazily in the air and catching it.
Hayden shrugged, standing at the edge of the makeshift court in one of Quinn's t-shirts knotted at her waist. "I can hold my own."
"Perfect! You're on my team then," he said, his grin widening.
Quinn grimaced, adjusting the net. "We didn't even pick teams yet."
"We don't have to," Trevor said, tossing the ball at Hayden, who caught it easily. "I already called dibs."
"Dibs don't count," Jack argued, stepping into the sand. "Besides, I don't trust you not to ruin every single serve she makes."
"Guys," Hayden interrupted. "We can rotate teams."
Jack and Trevor exchanged a look then both shrugged, apparently satisfied.
"Fine," Trevor smirked. "But don't be mad when we crush you."
~~
"Out!" Luke yelled, pointing as the ball bounced into the sand.
Trevor threw his hands in the air. "That was not out!"
"Dude, it was so out," Jack said, shaking his head as he jogged to retrieve the ball.
Meanwhile, Hayden stood at the net, adjusting her ponytail and smiling. Quinn couldn't help but stare, admiring everything from the curve of her neck to how her shorts fit her thighs.
"Q, stop staring and serve the ball!" Jack called.
"I'm not staring," Quinn mumbled, lining up to serve
The next rally was fast-paced, with Jack diving to save a ball and Luke lobbing it back over the net. Hayden held her own, quick on her feet and unflinching as instructions were barked at her.
"Nice hit!" Trevor exclaimed after she spiked the ball, raising his hand for a high-five.
She slapped his palm lightly, her smile easy, but Quinn caught the way Trevor's hand lingered for just a second too long.
"Focus, Trev," he snapped, tone sharper than intended.
Trevor turned to him, eyebrows furrowed. "I am focused. You okay, man?"
"I'm fine."
~~
A few points later, Hayden stumbled as she went for the ball, her foot catching in the sand. Quinn moved without thinking, reaching out to steady her before she could fall.
"You good?" he asked, his hand warm on her arm.
"Yeah," she said, brushing the sand off her leg as she looked up at him. Her eyes get his and the rest of the group seemed to fade away.
"Thanks," she added softly.
"Anytime."
"Alright, lovebirds," Cole called, ruining their moment. "Can we play now?"
Hayden laughed, stepping back to her spot. Quinn shot Cole a glare but didn't respond, his ears burning.
The final play came down to Hayden, Trevor, and Cole on one side, with Quinn, Jack, and Luke on the other.
"Just hit it over," Quinn muttered to Jack, who was already bouncing on the balls of his feet.
Trevor set the ball perfectly, sending it sailing towards Hayden. She jumped, spiking it cleanly over the net and straight into the sand on the other side.
"Game!" Trevor yelled, throwing his arms in the air.
Hayden raised her hands in victory, giggling as Trevor ran over to give her a congratulatory hug. Quinn gaze looked like it could kill as Trevor lifted her slightly off the ground, spinning her once before setting her back down.
"Alright, alright," she said, patting him on the shoulder as she escaped his grasp. "Calm down, Z."
"Can't help it," Trevor said grinning as he turned to Quinn. "You guys put up a good fight, though. Better luck next time."
Quinn didn't respond, heading straight for the water with the ball tucked under his arm.
Hayden watched him go, her smile fading. She didn't follow right away, but when she did, she caught up to him at the water's edge, where he was skimming the ball across the surface.
"You okay?" she whispered, wanting to keep their conversation private.
"I'm fine."
"Still just fine? Because you seemed... tense back there."
"Not tense," he muttered, thought Hayden knew him well enough to know he was lying. She could tell from the tightness in his posture.
"You know you can quit the protective act, right? Trevor's harmless."
Quinn snorted. "Harmless isn't the word I'd use."
She knocked his shoulder with hers. "Chill, babe. You need to be more... zen."
"Zen?"
"Shut up, I'm trying. And... just for the record, you're way more fun to play with."
"Yeah?"
"Duh," she said, her smile teasing. "But don't let it get to your head."
"Noted."
~~
The fire crackled softly, sending soft ambers into the air around it. The group lounged in mismatched deck chairs around the campfire, beers and marshmallows in hand. Luke was poking at the logs with a stick, while Jack balanced on the two back legs of his chair... strongly against Hayden's wishes.
She was curled up in one of the chairs, her legs tucked up to her chest, the glow of the fire casting shadows across her face. Quinn sat across from her, trying--and failing--not to stare at how majestic she looked.
"This is nice," she mumbled, sipping her drink.
"Best part of the trip," Jack agreed.
"Well, second best," Trevor added with a grin.
"Let me guess," Hayden said dryly. "The best part is beating everyone at volleyball."
"You fucking know it!"
Quinn rolled his eyes, taking a long sip of beer.
"Alright, I've got a question for you, Hayden," Trevor giggled to himself, already tipsy.
"Here we go," Cole cackled.
"No, no, it's a good one," he insisted. "If you had to date one of us, who would it be?"
The group erupted into groans and howls of laughter, with Luke flinging a marshmallow at Trevor's head. "Dude, what's wrong with you?"
"What?" Trevor asked, popping the sweet into his mouth. "It's a valid question!"
"Is it?"
"Yes! And you have to answer. It's the rules."
"What rules?" Jack asked with a snort.
Trevor ignored him, looking back at Hayden. "Come on. Hypothetically. Who's your pick?"
Hayden looked around the circle, her lips twitching like she was holding back a laugh. "Hmm," she said, drawing out the word just enough to make Trevor lean forward in anticipation. "I think... I'd pick... Cole."
Cole nearly choked on his s'more. "What?"
"You're the least annoying... I think," she shrugged.
"Fucking brutal," Jack shook his head.
"Good choice," Cole lifted his beer to her in toast.
Trevor pouted. "That's not fair. I'm not that annoying."
"Very debatable," Cole said, earning a hard shove.
Trevor, however, wasn't done.
"Okay, new question. What's the most romantic thing a guy's ever done for you?"
"You're fucking killing me," Luke groaned.
"Just answer the question!"
"Probably this guy who made me tea every morning for a week after my late-night shifts. And he didn't even drink tea himself."
"That's cute," Cole nodded.
Jack frowned. "Quinn doesn't drink tea."
Hayden bit her lip, trying to hide her amusement.
Quinn's cheeks burned as every eye in the group turned to him. "What?"
"Nothing... just making an observation."
"Interesting."
"I think it's time for bed," Quinn said abruptly, standing and brushing the sand from his shorts.
Hayden lingered for a moment, finishing her drink before standing and following him.
~~
Quinn was already lying on "her" bed when Hayden slipped into the room, closing the door softly behind her.
"You okay?"
"You keep asking that."
"Let me guess you're fine?"
"Yup," he said, popping the 'p.'
Hayden shook her head, pulling off her tank top and replacing it with one of Quinn's t-shirts before climbing into bed beside him. "You didn't look fine."
"They're fucking relentless."
"It's their job. They're... feeling out my vibe."
"Trevor sucks dick," he rubbed his hands over his face.
Hayden reached out, running her hand through his hair. "You didn't like his questions?"
"No."
"You're cute when you're worked up, you know that?"
Quinn rolled his eyes, but smiled despite himself. "Go to sleep."
"Fine," she said, rolling onto her back and pulling the covers over her. "For the record, I wasn't lying about the tea."
"Goodnight Hayden," he chuckled.
"Night, Huggy."
Hayden couldn't help but wonder if this weekend was proving that maybe... they weren't meant to just be "friends."
~~
Breakfast passed as normal, Trevor making comments about "volleyball rematch strats" and Jack pestering Hayden about if she'd ever stay for another "family" holiday again. Quinn kept his head down, gritting his teeth through most of it.
By the time they made it down for another round of games in the late afternoon, Quinn was wound so tightly he could feel it in the back of his neck.
And then... Trevor started again.
"Hayden, I think you should be the ref," he said tossing the ball between his hands. "You're way too good at this. It's like totally unfair to the rest of us."
"She's not that good," Quinn said, adjusting the net.
"Oh, come on, Qball. Don't be bitter just because she carried my team yesterday."
Hayden cocked an eyebrow. "I'm standing right here, ya know?"
Trevor smirked. "Trust me, I know."
Quinn felt a rush of heat flood his chest, a sharp pang of jealousy and irritation that he couldn't ignore.
"Alright," he snapped, letting go of the net and stepping back. "Can we just play already?"
"Jeez, man. Relax," Trevor blinked, his grin fading slightly.
"Quinn," Hayden mumbled, but he was already walking toward the house, his jaw set and his fists clenched at his sides
~~
She found him a few minutes later, standing in the kitchen and staring out the window at the water.
"What are you doing?" he exhaled sharply.
Hayden frowned. "What'd you mean?"
"This," he gestured towards the lake. "With Trevor. With all of them. You're enjoying this way too much."
"So what if I am? It's harmless, Quinn."
"It's not harmless," his voice rose. "They're pushing, Hayden. They're asking all these questions, making comments--and you're feeding into it!"
"I'm not feeding into it," she said, her tone defensive. "I'm just... playing along."
"Well... maybe you should stop."
"What's your problem, Hughes?" she narrowed her eyes. "You're the one who agreed to keep this under wraps. I'm just doing what you asked."
"Yeah, well, it's not fucking working. They clearly know."
"So what?" she challenged, stepping closer. "What's the worst that could happen? They find out we're sleeping together? Who cares?"
"I care!" Quinn yelled, his voice echoing off the walls.
Hayden froze, her eyes as wide as saucers.
He sighed. "I care, Hayden. Because this isn't just some game for me. It never has been."
The tension in the room was thick, the weight of his words hanging between them.
"Quinn..."
"You have no idea how hard this has been," he said, his voice low and intense. "Watching them flirt with you, tease you--like you're just some... some random girl I brought along."
"Q..."
"I know we're not serious. Not official," he continued, his words tumbling out in a rush. "I know you don't want anything serious. But you're mine, Hayden. And it's fucking killing me to sit here and pretend that you're not."
Her breath hitched, her eyes locked on his.
"Say something," his voice was rough, almost pleading.
Hayden didn't say anything. Instead, in two quick steps, she grabbed his face and pulled him down into a kiss.
Quinn froze for a quarter of a second before his hands found her waist, pulling her closer. The kiss was hot and urgent, everything that Quinn had been bottling up for months spilling out at once.
They stumbled back toward the counter, Hayden's hands tangling in his hair as he lifted her onto the edge. She wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him impossibly closer as his lips trailed down her neck, leaving a burning path in their wake.
"Quinn," she whispered, breathless.
He pulled back just enough to look in her eyes. "Tell me this isn't just casual for you."
She stared at him, her lips swollen and her cheeks flushed. "It's not," she admitted. "Hasn't been for a while."
"Good," he murmured, leaning in to kiss her again.
~~
The lay tangled together in his bed, the room quiet except for them both trying to catch their breath, Hayden drawing patterns on Quinn's bare chest with her finger.
He felt lighter than he had in days, the knot in his chest finally loosened... maybe even gone.
"You okay?" she whispered, pressing a kiss to the skin of his pec.
"Yeah, you?"
She tilted her head up, scruncing her nose as he kissed it. "I'm good."
Finally, they could both breathe easy.
~~
Jack and Trevor were already bickering as Hayden headed downstairs in the morning. She paused in the doorway, taking a second to tug the hem of Quinn's hoodie further down her thighs. It was comically oversized on her, the sleeves swallowing her hands, but it was warm and soft, and she hadn't felt like getting dressed into her own clothes.
Her hair was a mess from both sleep and sex, and her skin was flushed in places Quinn's stubble had brushed against the night before. She wasn't even thinking about it was she padded into the kitchen, bare feet against the hardwood floor.
Trevor was the first to notice. Of course.
"Morning, Hayden," he said cheerfully, taking a bite of his eggs. Then his gaze dropped to the hoodie, and his smile widened. "Wait a second. Is that--"
Jack turned, taking in her appearance. "Oh, no way! Is that Quinn's hoodie?"
Hayden blinked, feigning innocence as she grabbed a mug from the counter and poured herself a cup of coffee. "Good morning to you too, Jack."
"Don't 'good morning' me," he pointed the spatula he was using at her. "What is going on here?"
Trevor's eyes flicked to her neck, and his jaw dropped. "Oh my God!"
"What?" she asked, sipping her coffee like nothing was amiss.
Trevor laughed, loud and incredulous, gesturing wildly. "You've got-- Jesus, Hayden."
"You're gonna have to be specific, Trevor."
Jack moved closer, squinting his eyes like he was solving a crime. This his eyes widened. "No fucking way!"
"What?" Luke asked. He followed Jack's gaze and nearly dropped his fork. "Oh, damn."
"What?" Cole said, peeking over Luke's shoulder. His eyes moved from Hayden to the hoodie to her neck, and then to Quinn, who had just walked in from the living room.
Quinn froze, his hair still damp from the shower and a fresh t-shirt clinging to his chest. "What's goin' on?"
Jack and Trevor turned to him in unison, both grinning like maniacs.
"Quinn," Jack started, his voice high-pitched with fake shock. "Care to explain why Hayden is wearing your hoodie and why her neck looks like she lost a fight with a fucking vampire?"
"Can we not do this right now?"
Trevor cackled, doubling over. "Oh, we're absolutely doing this right now."
"Dude," Luke shook his head. "I thought you said nothing was going on."
Cole smirked, "Guess the couch wasn't so comfortable after all."
"Not helping," Quinn shot him a glare.
"Y'all are making a big deal out of nothing," Hayden said, popping a piece of bacon into her mouth.
Trevor pointed at her, smiling like the Cheshire Cat. "Oh, no. This is not 'nothing', Hayden."
"Looks like something to me," Jack wiggled his eyebrows.
"Guys," Quinn's voice was strained. "Can you please just drop it?"
"Oh, come on, Quinny!" Jack nudged him in the ribs. "This is a big moment. You've got a girlfriend now!"
"She's not my--" Quinn started, but Hayden cut him off.
"Careful, Jack," she smirked. "You sound jealous."
Trevor howled with laughter, gripping the counter for support. "She's good. She's so good."
Quinn groaned, running a hand through his hair. “I hate all of you.”
“No, you don’t,” Hayden said lightly, taking another sip of her coffee.
Luke, who had been mostly quiet, finally spoke up. “So, uh... are we gonna talk about this, or are you just gonna keep pretending it’s ‘nothing’?”
“It’s nothing,” Quinn muttered, glaring at his brothers.
“Yeah, sure,” Cole said, smirking. “We believe you.”
Hayden laughed softly, setting her mug down. “Alright, boys. Enough interrogation. Let the man eat breakfast in peace.”
“Fine,” Jack said, holding up his hands. “But this isn’t over.”
Quinn sighed, grabbing a plate and filling it with eggs and toast. He sat down at the table, avoiding everyone’s gaze.
Hayden slid into the chair beside him, her smile softening as she leaned in close enough for only him to hear. “You okay, Hughes?” she asked for the millionth time that trip.
He exhaled a quiet laugh, his shoulders relaxing slightly. “I’m fine.”
“Good,” she said, squeezing his hand three time under the table.
Quinn didn’t look up, but the faint smile tugging at his lips didn’t go unnoticed.
Maybe the chaos was all worth it in the end. Because Quinn Hughes finally had the girl of his dreams.

😭 except Joker's history with sexist behavior, his now over 3 decade long abusive dynamic with Harley, his gross obsession with Batman that has turned into SA before, the events of The Killing Joke & Barbara becoming paralyzed, are all significant and frankly Popular Joker plot points. It is consistent, it's his character at this point.
There's absolutely an issue in comics / their fandoms with inconsistency and back n fourth characterizations, as a Harley fan god I know skdjskd
But Joker is not a character who's greatly affected by it. Like at all.
He's very consistent being an abusive, sexist pig with an obsession towards Batman.
And there is someone who wrote a comic where he won't work with Nazis, that's why folks bring it up. Because 1 time he did a morally decent thing of doing the literal bare minimum & not working with scum of the earth Nazis.
But things like him being abusive or sexist or gross towards Batman aren't aren't rare Batshit Insane plots that happened here and there and Are Inconsistent. Him not being like that is inconsistent.
These aren't things that only people who Really read DC / Gotham related comics know about. Him sexually assaulting Batman maybe since that comic isn't a primary timeline one, but his obsession with Bats is quite literally these people's proof of him being queercoded. So, no.
Joker's actions in these plots are the foundation for his relationships with Batman & Harley, and Barbara no longer being Batgirl and becoming Oracle is directly tied to Joker's horrid actions when he paralyzed her, she's Oracle Right Now.
Sure, especially with Harley, I don't expect people to know every single horrendous thing he's done to her because frankly, there's a Fuck Ton, and I didn't even list it all, I didn't even list half. (Hell, I'm sure there's still moments that I haven't come across yet and that's saying something cause I've consumed just about every single piece of Harley media out there)
But The Killing Joke is a popular DC story, his unhinged obsession with Batman is like the only thing his character is, if you know he's obsessed with Batman, then you know the basics of his character.
And his relationship with Harley has Always been abusive. Like, if all these folks have seen of DC is BTAS, then they still know that. Joker not being abusive towards her is significantly more rare, inconsistent, and Batshit Insane tbf. And 9/10 times the "good moments" are clear as day love bombing to anyone consuming the content that's got more than 1 brain cell, it's just love bombing. It's called the cycle of abuse for a reason.
That's why I said "like y'all's only reference for him is the fucking Lego Movie and GOD it shows" because that's how they act he is all the time. It DOES show.
The Lego Batman Movie Joker is the outlier, he's the inconsistent one when compared to 99% of Joker's out there.
people in the replies of this keep mentioning Joker and him being queercoded n shit and it's just like 😭😭😭😭 y'all are so stupid I stg
Yeah the best example of a good villain whose not bigoted is *checks notes* the dude who violently abused his bisexual girlfriend, drugged her, pushed her into chemicals, ran her over with a car, infected her pet hyenas with rabies and had them attack her, hung her up by the neck with a chain, tried to forcefully impregnate her, pretended he was going to cut her face off to make her scared, made fun of her appearance to her face and to his goons, cut the side of her mouth open with a shaving blade, put a hit out on her, carved a J into her chest, pushed her out of a window 5 stories up, has kicked - punched - slapped - strangled more times than I could list individually,,,,, or has sexually assaulted Batman, and has sexually assaulted Barbara Gordon, is implied to have sexually assaulted someone in Joker (2008), oh and forced Harley to strip in a public crowded bar under threat of detonating the bombs in her and the squad's necks if she didn't. So ya know, also sa.
but hey !!! at least he's not said a slur! and he won't work with Nazis! as if that's not the literal bare minimum. Wow he won't work with Nazis, fucking NAZIS, do you want me to applaud him for doing the easiest thing that any person with even mildly decent or existent morals would decide? Ya know, not working with goddamn Nazis.
No one should be working with fucking nazis?? The bar is in hell.
Being an abusive borderline rapist with a sky high sexist streak is just casual Worst Villain behavior, he's not a bigot!
Everyone knows you're only a bigot of you 1. Say Slurs 2. Work with Nazis.
That's obviously the only qualifying criteria for being a bigot.
-
The Joker is a whole entire sexist with a history of severe in character abuse and sexual assault. but none of that matters to ((unfortunately large)) sections of the fandom or to locals cause some of y'all would rather just pretend he's an uwu messy gay dude who's just oh so in love with Batman and is not a sexist, abusive bigot cause fuck women and the suffering he enjoys putting them through right? like y'all's only reference for him is the fucking Lego Movie and GOD it shows
#Barbara fans correct me if I'm wrong as I don't consume a lot of her content and im sure i got a couple of yall here<33#but the killing joke's effect on her character feels pretty obvious to me at least#// hell just the sexist ass remarks he's made about Harley throughout the years and through like every media they've appeared in together#is enough for me to confidently call him sexist#''women am i right officer? can't live with em can't kick em out of a moving car''#i think leto's joker calling her an itch in his crotch should be enough in and of itself because it grosses me tf out#and ya know what so much stuff he's done being such a just Yeah That Sounds Like Something He'd Do / Say#is really fucking annoying because no matter what 9/10 times it doesn't matter if every other character is ooc he's so fucked in the head#that it always just feels in character for him#like the Joker / Mask comic or whatever DISGUSTING SEXIST TRASH but his character towards Harley? 100% accurate#Joker's Last Laugh? the comic where he sends his idk joker army to kidnap her because he wanted to have a baby regardless if she wanted it#horrid shit for Harley's character. her pain and fear and character is treated like a joke. its there for humor#and her final scene in the comic is a JOKE about her being sexually harassed by the military guards and strip searched Again just cause#but Joker not caring what she wants or that they're over or that forcing a pregnancy is Fucking Fucked Up? yeah thats in character.#he's never cared about what she wants or consent or anything#and its fucking frustrating because I'd like to disregard these comics mentally as the gross sexist trash they are but i cant#because regardless of how Harley's characterized or treated by the creative team its still accurate for how /He/ treats her#/He's/ still very much in character when it comes to their dynamic.#and I'm nothing if not someone who must collect every receipt for certain Harley topics and his direct actions towards her are one of them#the only other joker i can think of that doesn't just fit the same exact mold as every other one is Bianca and i still hate her#because she's a joker.#乁( •_• )ㄏ#but at the very least Harley(Holly) was with her (regardless of it being a woman) in like 1997 so#the very very very slim sliver lining is that Harley was shown to be bisexual twice in comic form before the 2000s#BUT THATS IT#// And idk about some of those other fandom plots#but I do remember as someone who was in the MCU fandom for a good while back in the Infinity War/Endgame time#that people really didn't like Captain America working with Hydra/ Nazis.#people were loud about disliking it and its inconsistency in regards to his character (never been a cap fan so idk more skdndks)#but joker's plots aren't like those listed. it's not weird wtf plots that mostly get disregarded its just him being him. a monster.

You know, I was thinking about Monstrous Regiment as I always do, and I just say, damn, Terry Pratchett sure as shit did the "Female attack drone operator killing children" joke ages before we even got there culturally.
Like, OK, during the climax of the book we find out that half of the Military high command are also women right? Disguised as men and wanting to keep their secret hidden as they live as men yes, but still women.
And here's the thing.
That's not, unlike Jackrum's ending, to be read as a trans allegory.
These are women, who joined the military, a sexist and awful military force who would have killed them had it found out for both being women and for crossdressing, got in a position of power by following the rules and not rocking the Boat (unlike Polly and her squad, who were offered the perfect way out yet still decided to come out as women), and then once they become the high command of the military they do NOTHING.
They do not change those same structures who oppressed them, because now they are in power so who care if other women get hurt.
And they do not stop the war, continuing it instead.
"Women can do the same things man can" is one of the Book's arc words, and it does sound like a pretty neat message, until Terry points out how this very same message can be used to sponsor horrible actions too and passing them for progress.
Women can be war criminals just like man can.
Much like back in the days, cigarette companies sold women cancer on a stick presenting it as freedom and liberation for their gender.
Much like The pilot of the drone that's going to burn your house to the ground has a pride flag pin on their lapel.
You are not immune to fucking military propaganda.

look at me, I'm sandra dee the outsiders headcanons
synopsis :
what would happen if Ponyboy Curtis had a twin sister? with her curling iron, checkered dresses, baking recipes and nail polish.. how would the gang deal with a sandy olson bloke?
or headcanons for being the only Curtis' sister.
worcount : 1,4k — masterlist 𝜗𝜚 navigation post
tags/warnings : third person pov, cuss words, canon-violence, typical sexist female steryotipes, 60's view in feminity, the gang (*cough**cough* Dallas and Steve *cough**cough*) bullying her in a friendly manner, the reader is kinda like sandy from grease.
The whole gang was sitting on the couch of the Curtis' living room, the TV playing Mickey Mouse. It was silent except for the sound of Darry cooking in the kitchen. Or that was until.. "DALLAS WINSTON!!!" your voice boomed across the whole house, just as all the greasers in the living room snapped their heads in the direction of your room Dallas came running through the hall while laughing his ass off. He was holding your curling iron in one of his hands, the cable pretty much flying behind him with how quick he was running. "I don't know no Dallas Winston, princess!" was his yelled out reply before he disappeared into the kitchen. It wasn't even two seconds before they saw you running hot on his trail, half of your hair neatly done and the other still without styling. "hey!" that was Darry's voice. "what the hell are you two gooses doing?!?"
⮞ to say you're shielded would be an understatement.
⮞ ever since you were born, as the only babygirl in the household, both your brothers and your parents have taken care of you.
⮞ yeah, you fought with Ponyboy a lot in your toddler years —especially about your toys, but you all cared for each other.
⮞ and now that you're in the gang, it's like the protectiveness has multiplied enormously.
⮞ as the only girl in the group, you're the designated babysitter for Two-Bit's little sister if he ever has to bring her along. ^you'll both be in your room, doing her hair or painting her nails. ^she adores you.
⮞ the gang bullies you in a friendly way, and I mean that Dallas likes to make fun of your girly things (nail polish, curlers, plushies, etc)
⮞ Darry does all the cooking in the house, but you do the baking.
⮞ Steve loves you.
⮞ like he loves you a lot.
⮞ whenever the gang comes by to hang out at the house, you've baked or are baking something sweet for all of them to eat and he devours your chocolate cake like a fucking animal.
⮞ they all smoke like two packs of cancer sticks a day, but god forbid you ever touch one of those Darry'll cut your hand off.
⮞ you're not allowed to smoke or drink. ^Dallas has sneaked you a few cans of beer sometimes.
⮞ one time Dallas made fun of you for the faces you pulled while putting on mascara and the next second he had Steve and Soda holding him down forcefully as you put mascara on him. ^he was full on kicking and squirming around like the girl in the exorcist and screaming as if you were burning him 💀
⮞ since then he keeps his traps shut about you and your make-up.
⮞ you're actually Johnny's favourite out of the whole gang btw.
⮞ you're calm, and giggly and spend your time doing harmful but enjoyable things that he'd take over fighting anyday.
⮞ he likes to sit on your bed, reading one of your books, while you curl your hair or put on make-up.
⮞ Ponyboy is your forced and reluctant fashion man that will tell you "yeah, it looks good, like the one before" when you show him an outfit.
⮞ Soda's your biggest hypeman though, he'll actually tell you some pretty good advice on what looks better on you.
⮞ Darry won't admit it, but when you dress in something frilly or pink it gives him nostalgia of when you were a 6 year-old toddler running around on your glittery pink princess dresses.
⮞ We all know Soda is the middle man between Darry and Pony all the time. You, on the other hand, are never taken into account in their discussions.
⮞ Sad but true, they don't really hold your opinions as that important because you "don't know how the world works"
⮞ Steve and Dallas are always teasing you like those annoying gossip aunts in the Christmas dinner asking about a boyfriend.
⮞ they don't know you're staying clear of boys for your eldest brother's sake. Darry really doesn't need the additional stress of you being with some boy he doesn't know that well.
⮞ Anytime Tim comes to the house for whatever he'll give you clothes from his sister or stuff that she's grown out like a specific colour of nail polish or whatever.
⮞ you're not allowed to go to the rumbles, firstly because Ponyboy isn't either due to age and because you're a girl.
⮞ greasers don't pick fights with society girls, but society boys do pick fights with greaser girls.
⮞ you've got a curfew, and Darry will get even more worried than when he did with Pony if you ever get late.
⮞ you've got princess treatment from Soda and Steve whenever you drop by at the gas station to keep them company.
⮞ they tell you to just 'sit there and be pretty' (referring to the counter) whenever one of them has to go attend a customer.
⮞ you've actually, embarassingly so, when you were
younger had a huge crush on Dallas.
⮞ you were 10 and he was the handsome bad boy that tugged on your ponytails, what were you supposed to do?
⮞ he found out three years later, once you no longer where crushing on him, because Two-Bit ran his mouth too much and now he mocks you on it and calls you all kinds of nicknames just for funsies.
⮞ god forbid any of the boys hurts you with an insensitive comment because Darry will knock their teeth out of their mouths without hesitation.
⮞ one time Two-Bit said that your dress looked dumb while he was drunk and Darry grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and forced him to apologise to you and tell you that your dress was really pretty.
⮞ talking about dresses and Darry, he always measures that your skirt goes at least two fingers over your knee before letting you go out lol.
⮞ overall they just act like a bunch of overprotective —and idiotic— older brothers.

Crying in the Country Club | ch. I
older!Rafe Cameron x dark!Reader
Warnings: age gap crush; large age gap; accidental flashing; obsessive thoughts; some sexist comments from Reader towards Rafe’s wife; flirting with an older, married man
The Carolina summer heat hung heavy in the air and you had long tuned out the monotonous buzz of the cicadas.
Charlie asked you a question and you answered with a shrug of your shoulders, moving the water around you as you swam in laps around the pool.
Much to your disappointment, Mr. Cameron hadn’t been out to check up on the two at all today.
Usually he would step out of the house and tell some stupid joke that would make you laugh so hard you’d double over, secretly hoping that your best friends’ dad would sneak a peak of your cleavage as your pressed your tits together and giggled stupidly.
The best, and sometimes only, reason that you hung out with Charlie so much was purely to spend time with and get closer to her father.
Rafe Cameron.
Father of your best friend. Best friend of your father. And the man that you obsessed over the most in the world.
Calling your feelings for Rafe Cameron a “crush,” felt childish, juvenile, which were the last ways you’d ever want him to see you.
No, your feelings towards the older man were much more akin to passion. Love. Dedication. And at times, absolute obsession.
For as long as you could remember Mr. Cameron being in your life, you could remember having intense feelings for him.
He had spent so much time around you when you were a kid, the Cameron household felt like your second home, and Rafe had almost felt like a second father in a strange way back then.
Growing up, Rafe had always babysat you until you were old enough to be on your own anytime your parents were unavailable, as you lived pretty close to the Cameron residence.
When you were in middle school you realized that you found Mr. Cameron incredibly attractive, a fact that once you told Charlie years ago, and when she fake threw up and laughed it off, you didn’t bring up again.
Even the fact that Mr. Cameron was happily married had never deterred your affections for him at all.
Hatred, enmity, and loathing were not strong enough words to accurately convey how you felt about Rebecca Cameron.
Charlie’s mother, and more importantly, Rafe’s wife, was an annoying, timid woman. You had had many years to hypothesize about their relationship and why Rafe stayed with that woman and for the life of you, you could never figure it out.
They probably were still together for Charlie’s sake, although now that you were both college aged, you didn’t see why Rafe didn’t just hurry up and divorce her already.
You were right there in front of him! What could possibly be holding him back?
As your thoughts ricocheted down more anxious rabbit holes in your mind, you were interrupted by the shrill sound of Charlie’s voice.
“I gotta go to the bathroom, and I think I’ll be done swimming after that. Are you cool with getting out soon?”
“Yeah, just lemme stay a lil longer.”
Charlie nodded and left you alone, thankfully.
You were still upset that Rafe hadn’t made an appearance. Here you were, showing yourself off wearing one of your skimpiest bikinis, and he was nowhere to be found.
Was he ignoring you? Was he trying to piss you off?
Maybe it was all just an elaborate ploy of faking disinterest to throw Mrs. Cameron off the trail?
Or maybe he didn’t have any feelings for you at all.
That thought made you want to rip out your hair and claw out your eyes with your fingernails.
Of course, it was probably all that witch, Rebecca Cameron’s fault.
She disliked you, that much you knew, but you were Charlie’s best friend, so there wasn’t much she could do to stop you from visiting.
You suspected, and hoped, that her disapproval of you also stemmed from the fact that you were a young, attractive, single woman.
All of the things she wasn’t.
Maybe she suspected Rafe might leave her for a younger woman. Honestly, if you were her, you would have been scared of that too.
Your eyes fell to the diving board and you realized you hadn’t used it at all today. Feeling pent up with anxious energy, you figured it couldn’t hurt to do a dive or two.
You climbed onto the board, testing the springiness with a few bounces before diving in to the cool water.
When your head broke the surface, you were surprised to hear clapping, and you opened your eyes to see Mr. Cameron standing at the edge of the pool watching you.
“Nice dive, Y/N? Have you been working on your form?” His deep voice brought butterflies to your stomach and you grinned at him and swam a bit closer.
He had noticed that your dive had improved? Did that mean he had been watching you more closely than you thought?
Plastering your sweetest smile across your lips, you giggled, twirling a piece of your hair in your finger as you answered, “I have, I’m glad you noticed!”
Finally reaching a place you could stand, you planted your feet on the floor of the pool and straightened up.
When Rafe’s eyes widened and his cheeks brightened before glancing away after a beat, you looked down to realize that your bikini top had become unfastened and your bare chest was exposed.
Feigning embarrassment, but secretly feeling thrilled, you let out an “oops!” before taking your time adjusting the material and trying to tie the top.
“Shit,” you huffed as you faked being unable to tie it, and you climbed out of the pool and turned your back to Rafe.
“Um, could you help me?” You asked in a sweet voice, playing dumb and innocent in front of him.
The older man hesitated for a moment before nervously chuckling and reaching for the straps.
When his large hands brushed against your dewy skin, you had to bite your lip to stop yourself from moaning out loud, and you were thankful he couldn’t see your face.
When he was done, you turned around, glancing up at the much taller man cheerily.
“Thanks, Mr. Cameron!”
Rafe sheepishly chuckled, looking embarrassed, “no problem, Y/N.”
The two of you stared at each other for a long moment, and you tried to guess what could possibly be going through his mind.
You wondered if he was hard right now.
“Well, um… dinner is almost ready. Charlie and Rebecca are already inside.”
At the mention of his wife, you frowned, but you jokingly played it off like you had just wanted to keep swimming and you were relieved when Rafe laughed with you.
You briefly wondered if he would mention the incident to Rebecca. Even though he only got a short glance, you hoped Rafe had compared your body to his wife’s, just for a split second.
Stepping inside the impressive Cameron house, the scent of garlic and tomatoes wafted from the kitchen and you realized that swimming had worked up more of an appetite than you had thought.
After taking a quick shower (during which you left the door unlocked hoping Rafe would accidentally stumble in), you dried off and changed into a tight, flattering top and a short skirt that you had caught Rafe staring at you when you wore it last.
Walking into the dining room, you could feel his eyes on you in your revealing outfit and you took your spot beside your best friend and across from Rafe.
When you reached for the bottle of red wine to pour yourself a glass, Mrs. Cameron loudly cleared her throat, glancing over at her husband with a raised eyebrow.
“What Becca? The girls can have a little wine with dinner, we let them all the time.” Rafe chuckled, referring to the many occasions when the Cameron’s had hosted extravagant dinner parties with 5 courses and liberally flowing alcohol.
Rafe winked at you and you grinned, silently ecstatic that he had shut his wife down for you.
She grumbled as you poured the glass, and you made sure that you added slightly more than may have usually been appropriate just to piss her off a little more.
Mrs. Cameron’s cooking was very good, but that was about where your praises for her ended.
She was incredibly high strung, and was frequently prone to have fits that required intensive professional treatment in the past, a fact that the Cameron’s usually preferred to keep under wraps.
On top of her volatile mood swings, you just found her to be incredibly annoying.
And you weren’t the only one.
Charlie seemed to pity and tolerate her mom more than anything else, and even your beloved Rafe seemed to get frustrated with her at times, much to your excitement.
You just had to put up with her if you wanted to be close to him.
As Mrs. Cameron droned on about reality tv shows and other trash, you glanced over to Rafe to see that even he wasn’t paying attention. The older man shot you a knowing smile when he noticed you, subtly rolling his eyes as Rebecca blabbed on.
You stifled a giggle, clenching your thighs together beneath the table and hidden from view when you felt a sudden wetness growing between your legs from his attention.
Charlie was, like usual, completely oblivious and checked out, scrolling on her phone at the table and giving her mom one word answers to every question she asked her.
The meal was delicious and you tolerated Mrs. Cameron’s lame questions about how your dad was doing, or your plans for the next semester and what classes you were going to take.
Conversations about college only made you feel depressed. Maybe it was because it was another reminder that you were growing up when you were scared to. Or perhaps it was due to the fact that acknowledging that you were still in college made you feel like more of a kid around Rafe and Rebecca.
On the other hand, sometimes you wondered if talking about it ever made Rebecca feel threatened. Did she fear her husband chasing after sorority girls and leaving her for the newest model?
You hoped that she did.
When dinner ended, Rafe stood and grabbed Charlie and Rebecca’s plates, reaching for yours as well and you shook your head.
“I want to help with the dishes tonight,” you confidently told him, hoping that Mrs. Cameron would feel bad for not stepping up before you could.
You frequently volunteered to do chores around the house when you came over, which Rafe always told you wasn’t expected or required of you, but you knew that seeing you step up in the household might make him realize all of the ways his wife was slacking.
Not to mention, it just meant more alone time with him.
The older man smiled at you, and when he thanked you you swore you felt your heart skip a beat.
In the kitchen, you claimed responsibility for scrubbing the plates before handing them off to Rafe to put in the dishwasher.
“Charlie told me that you two went on a double date last week, is that right?”
“Ha! She told you about that? Did she also tell you it ended with me dumping a milkshake on my date’s head?” You shook your head as you laughed, grabbing a sudsy fork from the sink and passing it to Mr. Cameron.
“She mentioned something like that,” he chuckled as he placed it in the dishwasher. “He must have pissed you off pretty bad, huh?”
You rolled your eyes, thinking back to the disastrous date. Charlie had meant well when she invited you out with her and her current fling, but she just didn’t understand your taste in men, and the dumb as rocks frat boy she had brought along for you had lasted all of two minutes before he began annoying you.
You just couldn’t stomach his crude humor and childish personality.
“He asked me what my favorite position was within 10 minutes of meeting me.” You dryly replied and Rafe raised his eyebrows in surprise before loudly laughing.
“Then he tried to guess my bra size like 5 times. And he was wrong. Every time!” You rolled your eyes as you giggled and Rafe laughed even harder.
You might have imagined it, but you thought you saw his eyes quickly glance down at your chest when you said “bra size,” and you desperately hoped that he was remembering seeing your tits after your top fell off.
Grabbing another plate, you handed it to him with a sigh, “I’m just so tired of dating guys my age. They’re all immature idiots.”
Rafe chuckled, “you’ll find the right one. Just got to keep trying.”
His words annoyed you. You had already found “the right one” and that was him. When he turned away to put the dish away you admired the way his muscles flexed and strained his shirt sleeve.
You felt like Mr. Cameron wasn’t listening to you at all. Maybe you needed to be a little more obvious. Perhaps he was holding himself back bc he was unsure of what your reaction would be.
“Well,” you began boldly, handing him another plate and holding your eye contact this time. “I think he might be closer than I realize. I just need to stop going out with guys my age.”
His fingers brushed yours as you passed him some silverware and you felt a thrill race up your spine. Did he do that on purpose?
Feeling cocky, you grabbed the last plate from the sink and when you passed it to him, you let your other hand fall to his bicep and you looked up at him through your lashes.
“I mean, what I really need is someone much older,” you stepped even closer to him, so near that your chests were almost touching, and you gave his bicep a little squeeze.
“Y/N…” Rafe stammered, looking into your eyes for several moments. You couldn’t breathe, so physically close to the man that you could practically hear his heartbeat thundering in his chest.
The sound of Rebecca’s voice drawing close and then the creak of the kitchen door made him flinch away from you, and you watched the plate slip out of his hand in slow motion, falling to the floor before shattering into pieces.
“Fuck-!” Rafe cursed and you quickly stepped backwards to avoid stepping on the broken shards with your bare feet.
“Rafe? What’s going on?” Rebecca asked, eyes widening when she heard and saw the dish break on the floor.
“Nothing. You just scared me, Becca,” he laughed, glancing around at the broken glass, although he was more unbothered than you due to his shoes.
“Oh sorry. Um, are you two almost finished up here? Charlie wants to watch a movie together, for the first time in weeks,” she excitedly added and you laughed inwardly at that. Of course she would be thrilled at the idea of her uninterested daughter actually wanting to do an activity with her for once.
You were sure she had only agreed to it to stop her mom’s nagging for a little bit.
“Yeah,” Rafe cleared his throat. “Just let me clean up this plate and I’ll be right in.”
Carefully watching your step to avoid the shards, you followed Mrs. Cameron as she walked out the kitchen, but you couldn’t stop yourself from glancing back when she had left your sight.
Rafe was leaning against the counter and frowning at the floor, seemingly lost in thought, but when he lifted his head before you exited and your gaze briefly connected, your cheeks flushed with heat from the hungry look in his piercing blue eyes.

undercover
detective!agnes x fem!model reader
summary; the nypd has been tasked with protecting a murder target in a high profile case. with detective o’connor being the most attractive in the department, she must ditch her rough around the edges look for girly glamour as she goes undercover. but what happens when agnes falls for the young model? will she love her for who she truly is under all that makeup?
tags; suggestive, depiction/mentions of murder and injury, violence, age gap, touchy agnes, sexist jokes, rio as a meddling side character as always
a/n; i love writing this!! also fyp i imagine tony to look like howard stark
chapter 1 | chapter 2
agnes was late for work this morning. she’d had what was most likely her worst experience yet on the metro, with some couple arguing loudly next to her at half past six, left her keys on said train and wasted twenty minutes trying to find them, and then missed her second train. safe to say that she wasn’t in the best mood.
her mood was made worse by the teasing from her co-workers as soon as she got in, but they shut up quick after she gave them a warning look. she might’ve got on well with them all, but that didn’t stop then from being scared of her. by the time agnes got into her office, it was near enough nine o’clock. she pulled her chair out to sit, and what couldn’t have been ten seconds later, her office door burst open.
“o’connor!”
oh great. agnes thought to herself, as the chief barged in.
“chief vidal.” she nodded, trying to sound somewhat happy to see her. the look on vidal’s face told her it didn’t work very well.
“what time do you call this?” she snapped, pacing around agnes’ office, “i have been calling you for an hour!”
“listen, chief, i had a rough morning, okay? won’t happen again.” agnes replied. she realised she didn’t sound very professional.
“oh it better not, or else theres a job back on ticket duty with your name on it. now come on, i’ve got a case for you.”
agnes wanted to respond, to snap back in some quick witted way, but she knew vidal wasn’t joking about those parking tickets, so she kept her mouth shut.
•☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾•
“so,” vidal began, pacing around the room once again, showing off a case file, “three murders so far, all highly paid models, all y/h/c, all around the same age, all with the same associates. all the victims were killed by a single shot to the head, and each victim had the next ones initials carved into their wrists. they were all also killed during big fashion and beauty events, and obviously the miss u.s.a. pageant is coming up this week. we believe that our killer is going to strike again at some point in the week of the pageant, so we crosschecked the initials carved on the wrist of our third victim with the names of the girls competing in the pageant. three names were flagged, but we took a look at their photos, and only one of the girls matches the description pf our previous victims. her name is y/n y/l/n, she is 27 years old, and is currently miss texas. our unit have been tasked with keeping an eye on miss y/l/n, and ensuring that she is safe until our killer is caught. any questions about that?”
“yeah, uh, cheif vidal?” agnes’ partner, tony, asked, “how exactly are we gonna keep an eye on her?”
“ah, yes, thank you accardi, i was just getting to that.” vidal replied, “someone’s going undercover. we need someone who could win miss new york. she’s gotta be pretty, but also strong and can keep her cool. so who’s up for it?”
the room seemed to have gone silent. it was painfully obvious that none of the people in the room were overly keen on going undercover, and it was made worse by the fact that there were only three women, excluding vidal, in the whole unit.
“well i vote o’connor,” one of the men said, “i mean, if she wasn’t for the ladies i’d totally hit that.”
agnes shifted uncomfortably in her seat, eyes confused, wondering whether or not to take that as a compliment.
“jones.” vidal warned, before turning back to the group.
“i’m with jones on this one, chief. she could win miss new york, easy.” another officer agreed.
“i could see that.” another agreed.
“you are really pretty, agnes.” one of the female officers added.
agnes was stunned to say the least. she had never ever thought of herself as pretty, though it had never seemed to bother her.
“right then, it’s settled,” vidal confirmed, looking agnes up and down quickly, “you’re going to need a bit of a makeover.”
•☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾•
“you know, hon, you really should consider going blonde.” your agent remarked, grimacing at your current hair colour.
“thanks marv, but my current hair colour seems to be making me enough money right now.” you replied, rolling your eyes.
you were currently sat in your hotel room, your agent, marvin, sat on the bed, whilst you were at the vanity, hair in rollers as your nail tech finished up your manicure.
“just a suggestion.” he replied. the sound of emails on his computer was irritating you.
“do you have to type so loudly?” you snapped, frustration painting your features.
“well excuse me for trying to book you another vogue cover for next month!” he replied, slamming the laptop closed.
“you know, marv, it’s getting late maybe you should go.” you sighed, feigning tiredness.
“alright. fine.” he mumbled, the nail tech leaving behind him.
you leapt onto your bed and sighed peacefully. you wanted nothing more than a morning to yourself, with a lie in and no marvin yelling in your ear about what to wear and what not to wear. it’s not that you didn’t like your job, you did. it was everything that came with it. the agent, the fame, the scandals, the staged relationships with men you despised, doing anything just to make the front page.
you wondered if you’d ever be in a relationship and fall in love. out of all the relationships you’ve been in, albeit they were all fake, the men always seemed to fall for you. what you couldn’t fathom is that you couldn’t find it within yourself to love them back. all you wanted in life was love, yet you seemed to have everything but it.
•☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾•
agnes didn’t recognise herself when she looked in that mirror. tony’s jaw had dropped, and vidal smirked, knowing now that agnes was the perfect choice. she looked like a supermodel. tony let out a wolf whistle and agnes rolled her eyes at him, shaking her head.
“who even is that?” she asked, eyes finding her reflection once again. her hair was down and curled for the first time in what must have been 15 years, and contained so many extensions that she thought there must be more of them than her own hair. her lips were painted a deep shade of red, complimenting her pale skin perfectly. her eyes now sported a flirty set of falsies and a shimmery dark shadow, and she was currently showing more skin than she had ever shown before, the deep purple dress showing off her collarbones and cleavage, but stopping just above her ankle. she looked beautiful, but she wasn’t agnes.
•☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾•
the flight felt longer than it was, and agnes was increasingly uncomfortable in the dress. she wondered how people wore things like this on a daily basis, it was so itchy. the flight seemed to last longer for tony and vidal, who had to come along, vidal because she’s nosy, and tony to be agnes’ fabulous assistant. they were quite the trio, both tony and rio threatening to throw themselves out of the jet if agnes complained one more time.
•☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾•
the hotel was stunning, agnes had to agree. her bag was heavy, and she wondered what could possibly be in here. she had no idea. vidal had just sort of thrown it at her, and wished her luck, before disappearing to the bar. tony had walked her to the room.
“oh my god, what is im this bag?” he whined, throwing one onto agnes’ bed. agnes threw the other up.
“i don’t know, and i’m afraid to find out.” she replied, grimacing at the thought.
she flipped the bag over as she unzipped it, “oh my god!” she exclaimed as she saw the inside. there wasn’t a pair of pants in sight. the thing was full of short dresses and revealing shirts, bottles of perfume, makeup, and what looked like 8000 dollars worth of heels.
“welcome to washington, agatha harkness.”

「Halloween」 Stiles Stilinski x F!reader
━━━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━━━
"A friend of mine is having a Halloween party this weekend, do you want to come with me?" you ask breathlessly after breaking the make out session you two are having in an empty classroom. He grunts in annoyance at the interruption but doesn't let it discourage him as he keeps kissing you even after. "Mh- Stiles?"
"Yeah," Stiles replies distractedly between kisses. "Yeah that sounds cool." His index fingers hook into your belt loops and pulls you closer to him from where you're sat on the teacher's desk, him comfortably snuggled between your thighs.
"Did you even hear a word I just said?" you ask with a chuckle before pushing his face away from yours, your hand squishes his cheeks until his lips pucker up in a funny way.
"Of course I did! halloween party this week end, got it" He says and removes your fingers from his face to kiss your swollen lips again, and again.
"Great! We could- do- a couple costume- let me talk!" Your hands push his chest away from you enough to catch his attention. "Hellooo? You with me?"
"I heard every word" The boy grins widely and places his hands on your waist, gently holding you. "I was just trying to stock up on enough kisses that will last me until the end of the school day." The fake sappiness in his tone makes you roll your eyes.
"boo loser!" You answer and fist his shirt with your fingers to bring him back closer to you, you peck him again.
He chuckles at your reaction and allows you to pull him back, his hands moves from your waist into the back pocket of your jeans and leans a bit over you to speak next to your ear. "What do you think about skipping the rest of our classes?" Stiles mumbles as he leaves kisses on your cheek and jaw.
"we really shouldn't" you answer and, sadly, put and end to your make out session by getting down from the desk, despite Stiles whines and attempts to keep you there.
"I can think of a million reasons of why we should," he protests as you get off the desk. "We have no work due in any classes, the teachers have been pretty boring today and now we have economy with the Coach. You want me to go on or have I made my point?" Stiles says as you grab your purse, and his wrist, to leave the classroom and begin to walk down the empty hallway together.
"Stop being a baby and focus on the costumes. I was thinking of the usuals: angel and devil?" you chose to ignore his complaints.
Stiles intertwines his fingers with yours and follows you easily, keeping up with your pace. "And I guess I would be the devil." He says throwing a wink at you and you snort as response.
"You? please! I would be the devil."
"You? No way. You're too cute to be the devil."
"And you're too innocent." you bite back.
He lets out an offended gasp. "Excuse me? do you remember I was possessed by an evil spirit like- a year ago? You can't stand a chance!"
"You can't alway bring that up as a way to win Stiles!"
"Yes I can! I was literally the perfect vessel for something evil. You can't beat that!"
"Oh my god okay. Let's just change the costumes, what about...Sexy nurse and patient?"
It was his turn to smirk this time. "Shouldn't you find it sexist?"
"Shouldn't you find it hot?" you bite back.
"That depends' would I be the sexy nurse? in that case ye-"
"Put your sarcasm away for a second, Stilinski."
"You act like you don't know me," He giggles to himself, "but seriously, how about something more original. We can't just go with clichés come on."
"What did you have in mind?" you ask as you stop in front of your locker just when the bell rings and signals the start of the next lesson.
He shrugs. "I don't really have anything specific. I just don't want something too cliché like a nurse and a patient..." He trails off, "...what about princess Leia and Han Solo?" he asks with fidgety fingers and red cheeks and you immediately catch what he's implying.
"mhh I wonder why..." you trail off as you close your locker with books in hands.
He lets out a nervous chuckle and rubs the back of his neck. "No reason!" He tries his best to keep his expression as neutral as possible, but the red ears and agitated fingers betray him.
"what a coincidence though... just a few days after watching Return of the Jedi you conveniently get the idea to dress up like in that movie." You rest your shoulder against the lockers and gaze up at him with a smirk.
He stutters a little. "What? it's a pretty cool movie, and- uhh... I thought the outfits were iconic and stuff...yeah... " he says, the excuse sounding less and less believable with each word.
You put the books in your purse. "Which outfit did you find iconic then? say it." Your arms are immediately crossed in front of your chest with a winning expression on your face.
He groans annoyed, "What?! Is it a crime to think you would look hot in Leia's slave costume?" He asks mildly offended.
"ha! I knew it!" you point an accusatory finger at him that he gently swats away.
He lets out a flustered laugh and blushes even more, running a hand through his messy hair under your amused eyes. "Okay, okay. You got me. But can you blame me? You would look so hot."
Your thumb raises to his face to wipe off the lipgloss you accidentally left on his lips. "Thank you baby, but I'm afraid I would freeze my ass off in that costume, what about Morticia and Gomez?"
His eyes light up at the suggestion. "Fuck yes, I'm in!" He sighs almost dreamily at the thought and you can't help but think he would be a great Gomez, considering how he behaves daily with you.
You giggle with your hands now in his hair to fix the messy state they're in (absolutely not your doing). "I'll buy our costumes tomorrow, kay?"
He hums in agreement and basks into the feeling of your fingers in his now... 'presentable' hair, at last you tried. "Goodbye Y/N in the Leia's slave costume, you were brighter than the whole sky." he sighs
You laugh out loud and slap his shoulder lightly, "shut up!"
He chuckles in response, not even trying to defend himself or avoid the playful slap. "I am allowed to have dreams!" your boyfriend playfully pulls grabs your cheeks to look at your face better. "Is someone getting flustered?"
"haha. Before acting so cocky you should see if you would be able to handle the sight." you sass back to try regain your confidence.
"oh trust me, I would be able to handle the sight." Stiles replies with a hint of cockiness before pecking your lips. "In fact, I wouldn't mind if it was an every day sight."
Even if Stiles doesn't notice, you take it as a challenge and you chose to not reply at that, only shake your head at his antics. "Come on, let's go to class, maybe the coach will shut you up for good."
He groans at the comment but follows you in the correct classroom. "If we had stayed in that class you could have silenced me in another way, that's too bad." He says in "fake" disappointment as you both enter the classroom.
"Oh my god what is wrong with you today?!"
The night of the party you're in the bathroom when you hear your front door slam shut, "babe I'm here! Where are you?" you hear his footsteps approach your bedroom and you shake your head at the way he enters in your house undisturbed without even knocking.
"In the bathroom! And for the record, I let you get a copy of my keys for emergencies only." You shout from behind the closed door and you hear your boyfriend huff as he walks into your bedroom, the bathroom's door is the only thing between you two now.
"You should define what is an emergency for you." He replies. "And I never asked for a copy of the key, I just did it"
"... is that suppose to make it better or...?" You ask as you look at yourself in the mirror on last time, the costume is.. something: your chest is covered by a golden bra with multiple metal-like rings that goes around your chest and back, paired with loincloth-style, red skirt supported by the gold waistband with the same decorations as the top and around your neck sits a collar with a small chain that dangles between your breasts. Well... this is humiliating and... hot? Fuck, Stiles turned you into a nerd and you hate it.
"Just a clarification... Are you done in there Morticia?" he jokes from outside and you brush your hair one last time, you love him but there is no way you would have bought the wig too.
"In a sec!" you breathe out, you're kind of nervous about his reaction.
"Okay! Hurry up I'm excited to see! Do you remember that yesterday's was coach's birthday, right?" He says from his laying position on the bed and you take a deep breath before opening the door of the bathroom slowly.
"We threw eggs at his house yesterday nigh, you should have seen his face when he opened th-" He snaps his head up to meet your gaze and his jaw drops at the sight.
You suddenly feel shy in front of him and you fidget with your hands as you wait for him to say something. "Do you... like it?" you ask with anticipation.
It seems like the entire word was stolen from his mouth, his brain was not functioning anymore at the sight of you. "I-" is as all Stiles is able to say as he sits up on the edge of the bed to get a closer look at you and his eyes roaming all over your body.
"Please say something I feel really stupid right now," you giggle nervously and your boyfriend's mouth opens and closes repeatedly like a fish.
"I-uh...I think my brain stopped working." He swallows and gulps loudly, the words, the numerous compliments he wants to throw at you are all stuck are stuck in his throat and it's difficult for him to speak right now. You grin proudly and do a slow twirl around to make him see everything, careful not to flash him considering the fact you're not wearing anything underneath the skirt... it's not like you're actually planning on making you or Stiles leave this room tonight so why bother ruining the fit. "Fuck." He stands up from the edge of the bed and walks towards you with long strides.
He stops just a few inches away from you and gazes down at your figure. "You look so gorgeous" he breathes out and a hand goes to hold one of your hips, the sudden need to touch you is making his fingers itch uncomfortably as his eyes stay fixed on the golden rings around your chest.
You let out a genuine laugh and take him in too, he's clad in the iconic striped suit Gomez wears, with a cute bow tied around his neck and hair slicked back neatly. "You look really good," you compliment him with a smirk and you receive a bewildered look as response.
"Me? I look good!? Look at you! I'm pretty sure I'm hallucinating right now this can't be real." He scoffs and takes a step back to admire you all over again, "fucking hell, you look unreal."
"Where did the cocky Stiles of a few days ago go?" you ask sarcastically as you walk towards him again, your hands on his chest to push him back until the back of his legs hits the mattress.
He lets out a huff as he's shoved backwards onto the bed, he bounces on it a couple of times and then looks up at you as you stand in front of him. "Gone. Gone, forever. He won't ever utter a word againohmygod" He almost promises in a groan when you straddle his lap.
You nod satisfied in a thought-so manner and adjust your position on his thighs. "Now, do you want me to change into the Morticia costume and go to the party or-"
"The second option. Whatever that is I don't care, we're staying here tonight." he answers firmly and his hands immediately go to your hips under the skirt.
You nod in amusement, "that sounds perfect," you lean in to kiss his lips but he sadly interrupts you, gesturing to your costume with timid eyes.
"... is there any chance you could keep this on?"
"Well I bought it for a reason, didn't I?" You ask as you untie the bow at his neck and he literally moans.
"Just when I thought you couldn't be anymore perfect."
